actually i think the 2013 logo was really nice and this one is fat, i'm just saying i like simple in general

everything is becoming more simple compare games like forza 1 to forza 6, the menus have so much less 'personality' sort of feel to them, they're just plain and "modern" |

I say modern UIs can have personality to them, and are much easier on the eyes. From a developer's point of view, it also makes projects a lot more easier and less time-consuming to make, meaning you can use the product faster.
If you're really bummed out, it is just the look of the decade and will probably die in the 2020s.

i find that gradients are barely used anymore in almost everything
take for example pause menus, what used to be those shiny-looking buttons with dark-light-dark gradients that would invert when you hovered over them, anyone know what i'm sayin? |
