Place revenue was actually the most money that people got from developing.
Unless you were in the special 5% of developers that ROBLOX noticed. :/

I can't answer for all devs since every experience is different, but for me personally, tickets really didn't contribute much to my income. Even minus the sponsorship money, game passes and clothing definitely made the most money for me.

Not necessarily true, there were highly popular users like nooooooo, ajedi32, HatHelper, TwoShue, and many others before the rise of Gusmanak and that lot. They still got famous. And even before the people before Gusmanak++++, there were still others.
Everybody starts somewhere, and you can read my reply on the other thread where I touch on this a little bit. |

@Science: Honestly, I had a similar system running, and barely anyone actually paid for it. The problem was always "I don't have any ROBUX." *shrugs* Just wanted to point out that the blog stretches the truth a bit. ] I am the pink disco kitty. Fear the pink kitty. |

@Eir: "Unless you were in the special 5%"
I'm talking about the 95%. :/
You did read, right? I mean, you do know that what you are stating is pretty much irrelevant to my actual point, right?
At least LegoSeed got the idea.

Your statements contradict. Where is this 5% coming from? Place revenue gives money? 'Unless you were in the special 5% of developers that ROBLOX noticed' so which one do you want to stand by? From what I see any developer can earn money as long as they have 100k, OBC, and good standing.

Everybody has to start somewhere. Where do you think Loleris, or even Legoseed started with? That's right, at the bottom. Look where they both are now. :-)
Being in the "5%" isn't a given, it's earned. |

@Guy who asked: I was stating that there is an exception, but you have to be invited in by the admins to that exception.
@Inv: Read above. The admins decide who becomes famous VIA their own name.
Without a famous person saying "I like this guy" do you really think you would get players?

Appears there's a bit of a misunderstanding here- you seem to think that these people got blog articles left and right when they first started out, and that's not the case at all.
I'm going to use World Expedition as an example here. I remember when that game was extremely small and nobody really noticed it, but it was a great game, so ads were ran for it. It exploded in popularity, and even went on to host the Viewmaster event late last year when admins saw that it was a cool new game.
On the blog they want to feature the hip new games or whatever that are gaining steam and are relevant, do you honestly think they're going to spotlight some random game with like 5 visits?
No.
And also it builds a bit on ROBLOX's image so it's not just about giving praise and glory to the devs, the blog is a showcase for ROBLOX Corp to show off all the cool things players are doing with their various programs. |
