Long story short? I don't want to keep working on HoD and I'm highly considering a new project so there's a chance I might not keep updating HoD pretty soon.
My reasons: - The game has a seemingly endless supply of nonsensical bugs to provide to me - Data loss that players semi-frequently complain about will always be imminent if I keep all the features I really want to put in the game like Mining or Crafting different items (which I never finished) - A lot of mechanics of this game need to be repolished anyway - The rest is a lot of back end stuff that I won't bother explaining - I'm better off scrapping HoD and starting anew because it will give me much more flexibility to do what I want with the game and, well, make it work
MONEY DISCLAIMER: If you want to keep spending your robux and tix on HoD, then by all means to do but like I said above there's a chance that I might stop updating HoD in the near future.
THINGS YOU MAY SEE IN THE NEXT GAME: - Non-mesh weapons 'cause they're horrible - More balanced..everything - "ACTUAL" magic - the description in HoD about "or choose the path of the wizard and rain down upon your enemies with epic spells" is a little inaccurate 'cause it's just stupid projectiles. You guys deserve cooler stuff - Better building - No classes; the player will be multivocational meaning you can get any sort of weapon or magic you like - Better animations? idk - Your data shouldn't have saving problems as long as I don't make the game as complex as I tried to make HoD - Hopefully quality PvP - Better-looking NPCs that should always detect you - Hopefully whatever you guys, the fans, suggest - Better economy - Better xp return on enemies >.> - FilteringEnabled compatibility - More interactive fighting from NPCs and bosses
THE GAME PLAN: Where I'm gonna go from here is just try to remove and/or simplify some of HoD's features like... - Removing armor crafting and just make it level only..then what to do with ores? Make it give you xp instead of actual ore when you mine it? Then people will want crafting which brings me back to the original problem. - Going to try to continue with script optimization, like with the NPCs Idk. Just make the game to a completely PLAYABLE state. - Might scrap a couple maps and NOT go with the game universe idea. I'd like to keep it to still have more content in the game but if I have to get rid of it I will
So basically like any other basic RPG you'd see on ROBLOX. Still bad (although hopefully still very fun for you guys), but kinda cooler.
So it's about 2 AM and I might've missed a key point or several while typing this..if so I'll try to correct it later. Please post your thoughts on this below.
note: not sure if I still want to make a 'first person caster' or not (like first person shooter but with spells)

MORE THINGS YOU MAY SEE IN THE NEXT GAME: - Character customization: - Race (orc, human..er, others) - Gender? - Hair, - Elemental damage? - Race damage bonuses hopefully (i.e. 10+ damage per hit to Orcs) |

| I think i know what kind of intro you should make (mortem? i have a problem spelling his name unless its right then :P) but the intro you should put in is from a game i like to play called dark souls 3. one of the bosses if you do another npcs quest has a cool intro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IolJ6lJJrI just watch this from 50 secs in and make the player be the white knight come in and mertom lying on the ground like a skeleton and he rises up and glares like the video. |
