when ur doing questions solving for the coefficient of friction (on a flat surface)
theres all this stuff like you need to write multiple Fnet statements and equate them
and i have no clue how to do that |

if i remember, the formula is
f = u (Fn)
f = frictional force u = static Fn = normal force |

@Wolf
It takes 58N of horizontal force to move a 22kg box to move at constant velocity
Solve for U

Because it's constant velocity your FNet will = 0 N because it's not accelerating
And you have the mass * gravity so ur normal force will be 22kg * 9.8m/s^2 = 215.6N
And now F(kinetic) = U * Fn
Am i on the right track |

@tx
exactly on the right track
now just get the static of the surface that it was pushed it
and then plug that in for Ff
so Ff = uFn
then just divide u into Ff to get Fn |

they should either give you the Fnet or static
does it say what surface its being pushed on? |

Dis is what I mean
Fk = U * Fn
Fk = U * 215.6N
I need to write a second statement so that i can get a value on the left side of the equation so that i can solve for U |

@Wolf
Constant velocity which means FNet x is 0
And it's on a surface so FNet y is 0 |

omg ur F(k) needs to = Fa because its not moving
So 58N = U * 215.6N
58/215.6 = U
0.27 = U
Right answer!!! we out here ng |
