Hello! Welcome to the OFFICIAL, final Old Collegiate Football League Rankings. I thank you for a tremendous season, and congratulate each and every individual player for their outstanding and admirable effort. Unfortunately, today, four teams must be eliminated from the fray.
Understand, this was an extremely difficult decision, especially in the case of Arizona State and Michigan University, but I believe the best possible bracket has been created from these results, and the top four Old Collegiate Football Association teams have been let in.
_______
#1: UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI (9-1)
#2: LOUSIANA STATE UNIVERSITY (7-3)
#3: UCLA-BRUINS (7-3)
#4: ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (5-5)
#5: UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN (5-5)
#6; OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY: (5-5)
#7: UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA: (2-7)
#8: UNIVERSITY OF OREGON (0-10).
_______
Now, I'll answer the most controversial question. Why, why would Michigan, previously ranked #4, actually be leapfrogged by Arizona State University despite winning themselves while Arizona State lost?
Well, the first answer is simple: I erase the rankings each time I do them and do them from scratch, ignoring last week's results. But, regardless of that, what, do you ask, made me separate and be confident Arizona State could be a good representative into the College Football Playoff, more so than the University of Michigan?
Few, simple facts: Michigan owns the H2H tiebreak versus Arizona State (2-0). Remember, though, the first game featured controversy because specific people were suspended for alternative accounts, but a forfeit was not issued.
Michigan is probably the first team ever to have a .500 or above record despite having a -20.0 PPG differential. That's, well, awful. So, I looked a bit deeper. Why could this be? Simple. My final point comes in Strength of Schedule. Michigan has, by far, the worst strength of schedule in the Old Collegiate Football Association. Three of their five wins come from the only winless team in a ten game format in Old Collegiate Football League history: the University of Oregon. They average 12.3 PPG and give up over THIRTY ONE.
That raised questions. How can I put this team over the proven Arizona State squad, and expect them to reasonably compete? I can't. I finally, compared the two teams to the highest standard in the league: the University of Miami. Michigan got absolutely annihilated versus this team, Arizona put up an overtime fight.
For these reasons, I decided to trust Arizona State University as the four seed versus The University of Miami more so than I could trust the University of Michigan. Nonetheless, amazing season Michigan, great comeback from the literal abyss, you just lost out by a hair. Come back stronger, and best of luck to your Old Football League draft prospects!
______
PLAYOFF SCHEDULE:
COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF: SEMIFINAL:
Arizona State University "@" UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI (neutral field): 4-16-16; 3:00 PM EST.
UCLA-Bruins "@" Louisiana State University (neutral field): 4-17-16; 3:00 PM EST.
WINNER OF GAME A @ WINNER OF GAME B - TRIUMPH BOWL V (Triumph Bowl field!): 4-23-16; 3:00 PM EST.
______
Yes, I understand there is a two week interval between Week Ten and the semifinals. This allows all the teams to prepare, build up some hype to the game, and make the Triumph Bowl coincide with the Old Football League Victory Bowl to set up a joint-league "Champions Week". No worries, it won't be as long as you think. The next week will be "awards week", and only one week will be empty with preparation.
Remember, teams still get the losers bracket of this tournament! This is for pride, engagement, and nothing else:
OREGON @ MICHIGAN; 4-2-16; 3:00 PM EST
ALABAMA @ OHIO: 4-3-16; 3:00 PM EST
WINNER OF GAME A @ WINNER OF GAME B; 4-16-16; 7:00 PM EST
The winner is essentially just the winner of the lower circuit. This might bode well for you! Last season, the previously winless UCLA-Bruins won out their circuit, and look at them now: 7-3, and playoff bound.
______
Thank you for reading, and have a tremendous playoff season!

i honestly think michigan deserves it considering they literally beat asu twice, even if the first one allegedly had alts, there were no alts in the second one.

"The winner is essentially just the winner of the lower circuit. This might bode well for you! Last season, the previously winless UCLA-Bruins won out their circuit, and look at them now: 7-3, and playoff bound."
Michigan was winless, and I led them to the Citrus bowl win before I passed over Head Coaching operations to Ploogium in order to focus on OFL more. I then took over UCLA as President during F/A Week.
So technically, it should be
"The winner is essentially just the winner of the lower circuit. This might bode well for you! Last season, the previously winless Michigan Wolverines won out their circut, and look at them now: They got their shts pushed in at 5-5, and are somehow playoff bound."

dwarf idk if you noticed but even UCLA and other teams ranked above you are saying we should've made the playoffs. let's not mention that the reason we're not is because our schedule was purposely made to face Oregon 3 times. oh and let's not forget that the second time we beat you was by more than 3 points unlike the last game lol

| Michigan should be in playoffs because we we worked harder during that last win and we did better and dwarf said his team was cosistent take a look at that playoff shirt at the beginning they were pretty good and rn they still are see they *made* the playoffs cause they were cosistent and at the beginning Michigan was unprepared disorganized and just wasn't fuctional but now that we got players we may have a chance |
