"Congratulations! Your performance on the [PSAT] places you among the top future high school graduates. In recognition of your outstanding achievement, the University of New Mexico is pleased to present you with the enclosed Certificate of Merit."
(they gave me an actual AWARD in the mail LMFAO)
"Your accomplishment indicates that you are an ideal candidate for admission to UNM. As New Mexico's flagship institution, UNM is positioned to provide you a world-class educational opportunity. The university is a major center for teaching and educational research with over 200 degree programs from which to choose. You will have an opportunity for hands-on research, study abroad, a strong liberal arts education, and a university honors program. Additionally, UNM has a wide array of strong professional schools, including medicine, law, pharmacy, architecture, and nursing."
*looks up UNM's rankings and admission requirements* LOL

You know your school's embarrassing when your letter mentions its LIBERAL ARTS PROGRAM before actually useful programs like law or pharmacy.

I'm applying to the University of Texas, the University of Oregon, Iowa State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, and the University of Colorado
Even if I needed a safety school it's going to be in-state, sorry University of New Mexico, you tried by hitting me up with the "up to $100,000 in scholarship opportunities" |

| Exactly. The perfect combination of architecture, land surveying, civil engineering, and politics. Mostly architectural design though, that's for sure. |

Both my parents went to the University of Texas but I know I'm not going to get in. If I want to go the in-state route to save some $$$, I'll go to Texas A&M, but I honestly am looking the most at Iowa State the most. It's a nice campus, in a small town, and it's still a pretty good school. Top 100 research school in the world. |

"why wouldn't you get in?" I live in the state of Texas. There's a thing called the top-10 percent rule (at the University of Texas it's really top-7%) and what that is, is that if you finish in the top 7% of your high school class, you get automatic admission to the university. I go to a prestigious, rigorous, and challenging high school where I'm in the top 29% so I can't get into Texas because someone who finishes salutatorian of some small rural town in this state will make it to UT over me, regardless of whether they are more prepared or not. Admissions standards are a lot higher than a lot of public universities
"i always thought iowa was one big farm. i guess i'm wrong?" You're wrong, but I don't blame you, and I probably don't know much about Western Australia either Iowa isn't one big farm, it's actually pretty urban around Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, with the college towns of Ames (ISU) and Iowa City (U of Iowa) too |

1. lol @ trashing the liberal arts in 2016 like you won't go to university and get a liberal arts degree
2. like 90% of people who go into law have a liberal arts degree beforehand. you need to know how to write briefs
3. pharmacy skills is something you learn at community college haha don't post about college again |
