I've always felt that there was no point in selling content as an NBCer, but given the recent removal of methods to earn Tix, I decided to see if, by selling a product of, what I personally feel, is much higher a price than it is worth in order to make more money off of it, I've been generating a steady source of higher revenue than I did with tickets from login stipend or place visits, judging from the TC rates.
In other words, even selling something that is of little value at a markup, with significant warning that it is of little value, you are likely to generate a surprising amount of revenue, as long as a large enough public spotlight is on you and your work.
Interesting.

As a side note, it actually makes me rather curious about why NBCers aren't allowed to make and sell shirts/pants. On the one hand, you could argue that it creates a stronger incentive to get BC, but on the other hand, sales of items to NBC players remove money from the economy in large amounts, causing a dramatic lowering of inflation. I could also say the same of why gamepasses cost 100R to create. Surely, sufficient sales of a gamepass from a user with less than 100R$ will remove large amounts of money from the economy?
