You are the general of the Imperial 4th army. The 4th army, in an attempt to drive back the advancing enemy and end their string of victories, was foolishly ordered forward in an assault by the government. Despite early success, an enemy pincer movement cut off supply lines and encircled the army. You receive a report from an officer that there is a large 4-lane bridge several miles to the north that the enemy could use to get across the river. If it could be destroyed, it would severely hamper enemy efforts in the north. But, the engineers would require a diversionary strike against the enemy in order to have enough time to destroy it. These engineers could also be used to begin deploying defenses.
Infantry remaining: 40,000 Armored units remaining: 800 Artillery units remaining: 50 Air support?: No Long-range naval support?: No

The diversionary attack is successful, with the engineers blowing up the bridge, and at little cost due to heavy armored presence.

The troops fall back before the enemy gets a chance to engage, allowing the enemy to gain more ground, although no casualties were taken. You receive word that a naval vessel has gotten into range to fire long range cruise missiles. Your engineers have constructed a rudimentary defensive position as well.

While trying to deploy mines, your engineers are caught by the leading edge of the enemy advance, 10 armored units supported by 50 infantry. 10 are killed, and the rest scatter and attempt to begin finding their way back to friendly lines. Until they return, defenses cannot be upgraded. It was not entirely in vain though, as the enemy lost 4 tanks due to the few mines deployed, and, to be safe, they are beginning to deploy minesweepers to the front to tediously search and clear any mines.

You send an attack to the ENE with 200 infantry, 20 armored units, and 10 artillery units. They make good progress, destroying the enemy minesweepers and scattering their light protection, mostly infantry.
Losses: 20 infantry 0 armor 0 artillery
Infantry remaining: 39,790 Armored units remaining: 795 Artillery units remaining: 50 Air support?: No Long-range naval support?: Yes
The enemy, after seeing your forces move through the area suspected to have mines in them without damage, realizes how few you had managed to actually deploy, and sends their force in. Their one weakness is their lack of artillery support.
Combatants:
You:
180 infantry 20 armor 10 artillery
Enemy: 2,000 infantry 80 armor 2 artillery
Do you
A. Order the force to fall back B. Hold your ground and call in [x] infantry, [x] armor, and [x] artillery as reinforcements C. Attempt to locate a more defend-able location |

You call up reinforcements of 3,000 infantry, 150 armor, and 15 artillery, and order your forces to complete a complex maneuver. The artillery is successfully hidden from the enemy by camo nets, taking them by complete surprise. While a diversionary force makes a frontal assault, armored units successfully pincer behind them, while troops with camo successfully use bazookas and rocket propelled grenades to assault their supply trucks bringing up the rear.
Combatants:
You:
2,850 infantry 106 armor 22 artillery
Enemy:
1,180 infantry 35 armor 0 artillery
Do you
A. Continue the assault B. Order another force of [x] infantry, [x] armor, and [x] artillery to head to the SE in another attack. C. Fall back |
