So, as I've read up on the blog regarding the latest "Ticket Removal" update I figured it'd be nice to point out the flaws within the argument. This is merely my take on the issue. If you wish to skip to the bottom I'll put an overview and final statement.
1.) "Many of these games have their own currencies, and many of these games provide their own retention bonus systems. We’ve introduced a host of ways for our developers to make ROBUX. The ticket bonus for place visits has become a very small factor to most developers relative to the ROBUX economy."
Yes, games do have their own currencies. What does that matter to the true Roblox currency? Furthermore, tickets are not at all a "small factor" to any player. They can be transferred for Robux, which in itself is a great help if you do not have BC or wish to run advertisements.
2.) "We are removing tickets for a number of reasons. Although familiar to many of us, they are confusing to first-time users."
Confusing? I've never heard of anyone on Roblox consider Tickets to be confusing. What's confusing is the enormous inflation that Roblox shoved itself into with no logical reasoning.
3.) "In the catalog, we intend to provide more free items, so that avatar customization without ROBUX continues to be creative and rich. Today, we have introduced two free packages for your character. Going forward, we will feature the work of top creators in the community as we migrate to a fully community driven catalog."
Rather than provide free items you could easily just provide more items that cost Tickets. Although a community driven catalog does seem nice, it does not strengthen the resolve of removing an entire currency whatsoever.
4.) "We do not want to incentivize people to 'check in' every day."
This statement is ridiculous and does not support the argument any further. You could fix this issue by granting players 10 Tickets each day, regardless whether if they log in or not. Games have used this strategy, and often still do, with no repercussions.
5.) "For our deeply engaged users we want to be able to provide more valuable rewards that are not directly tied to login."
Unless it's Robux or actual character items, nobody really cares. This defeats removing Tickets in the first place.
6.) "There is another benefit to removing tickets, and that is it removes the incentive to create alt accounts. We don’t believe it makes sense to provide a currency bonus to having multiple accounts, as this drives behavior that is not at the core of ROBLOX."
What effect does this have? None. A player would not be able to transfer Tickets to a primary account without having BC. Also, BC players likely don't do this anyway.
7.) "The impetus behind removing tickets is not to make more money."
I think it is funny when a company states something along the lines up, "It's not because we're trying to make money." Nearly one-hundred percent of the time it is, in fact, about making money. If a company doesn't work toward increasing their revenue they usually go under.
8.) For those of you who are clothing developers, we believe that over time you will have a richer opportunity as we expand our catalog to a next generation avatar. We will be lowering the ROBUX price floor on shirts and pants to help increase the volume of sales of these items for our creators.
You could have done this without removing Tickets and everyone would be much happier. An online game does not need an economy. Especially one with an economy that is, so far, awful. The inflation on this game, as seen with the price floor changes, should never have happened in the first place. It's likely to obtain more revenue for the company, as I have stated before.
[ Overview ]
There still has yet to be any information released on how players will acquire Robux without first obtaining BC or owning a successful game. This will provide problems such as newer players being unable to customize themselves as efficiently due to the lack of currency. It seems as though basic economics isn't understood very well within the Roblox company. That or, as a whole, they aspire for more wealth. They can't be blamed (entirely) for this however.
[ Final Statement ]
The entire basis of an economy is supply and demand. Take a trade network for example. Prices raise or lower due to limited resources. Roblox does not have limited resources, not including limited items. There is no limit to how many shirts, faces, or any other item a player can purchase. There is also no limit to the currency being pumped into the Roblox "economy." Giving players 10 Tickets a day wasn't meant to involve an economy in the first place, and completely eradicating the currency is only going to lower the value of Robux. |

@Jake It is rather silly that they took down my previous thread on this issue with no reasoning behind it.

| I feel you on everything about this issue, the way they claim not to do it for money give the users a better feeling about not doing the daily check ins so they won't log in then log out. Funny since roblox really made me do this for a while now since I can't stay on this site for more than I already have at this point. |

Honestly, if Roblox goes through with this, they'll lose a large portion of their community, this has me thinking about quitting more, since I trade all my tickets for Robux often, sure I'd like to see a more community driven catalog, but how will people without a source of income be able to purchase most of the clothing items then? This is one of the worst decisions Roblox has ever made, and if they go through with it i'm leaving regardless. I've dealt with all their game breaking bugs, all their aweful updates, and such for 8 years, It's not worth it anymore with this and the new animation set the previewed. -Shrugs-

@Kaz Agreed. I made a thread about that, however I was somehow "breaking the rules" with a perfectly clean thread.

I miss Erik.
This shouldn't have happened.

Freaking roblox, first this, now the crappy new avatar, I'll probably quit soon enough. I read the blog thing, and their argument is just hilarious. I just CANT WAIT for the new avatar, it'll just be another one of the awesome roblox updates we've all learned to love. RIP 11/21/2011-3/15/2016. |

| So people who do not own a membership and would rather not buy Roblox, will have only one option; to buy the roblox or get the "free stuff"? |
