I posted a thread like this a while back, but the thread is old so I decided to make a new one. I take several martial arts, but they're not exactly "mixed," since they're taught separately.

Cool.
Please be specific with which martial arts you took, like Jax.

I've taken martial arts for about a year now. My school is pretty strict with ranking up, so I haven't reached green yet.

I actually am well versed in martial art's sister form.
It's a rigorous art form. It hones mind, body, and soul. Only a select few who can dedicate their lives to it may achieve greatness, but a great risk to their mental, physical, and emotional health.
It requires both auditory and non-auditory actions in order to develop a masterpiece that is deadly as it is beautiful.
This ancient art form is taken from world cultures throughout history, from ancient Greeks and Romans, to the honorable shogunate of Japan, to the prestige of the British Empire.
Over centuries it has taken many different forms but is now known in the modern world under one broad scope. Under this umbrella there are branches specializing in many aspects of the form, each as spectacular and difficult to master as the next.
I speak of course of the PERFORMING ARTS! |

"took"
I still do it
And the style is Kenpo
Well American Kenpo basically
Just some info from my dojos website
" Kenpo - which means "fist law" - fast fluent hand/feet techniques as well as key Jiu-Jitsu techniques (joint locks and joint manipulation) in order to enable students to develop a sound foundation in martial arts and self defense."

| Used to. Our sensei was discovered to be charging different prices for other people so something happened to him and the program discontinued. |

Keep going, guys. I'm genuinely interested in what your experience is with martial arts, or even what you think about martial arts in general.

I think martial arts is a respectable field. It does it's sister form, performing arts, justice.
Although I would hardly debate the legitimacy in training and practicality of either form... |
