Here's my current situation: I made a thread like this a while ago but lost it. I'm not that fat but I want to begin bulking up my body or at least losing some weight/fat. I've begun going to the gym again (can't lift much but it'll eventually pay off). Also began working on a healthier diet.
Any good sports/diets/methods of getting slim in the time of 4-5 months? I hear swimming and running (or doing track) is good. I want to be fit enough to try out for the JV soccer team next year, which'll take a while.
I'm asking C&G cause you guys seem the most fit out of all the Club House forums (next to LMaD).

I was actually in this same position as you & with hard work & sacrifice, I made the varsity team this year.
Here's some tips that I did,
Go outside & run, especially if you're going for soccer, stay away from treadmills & go outside in your neighborhood and run around. If you can't run for much (like how i was) start small at 5 minutes & increase it by 30 seconds each week to improve your stamina.
MY MOST IMPORTANT TIP. Do not drink your calories, water only. I lost 20 lbs without changing my diet besides removing coke from it, i used to drink coke every day, once I stopped, I saw immediate weight loss.
As for weight lifting, just buy some sick beats and turn up while lifting weights, increase amount every week or so. I personally bought my own bench press & weights so I could do it at home which is a lot more convient.

| Okay just purge yourself. Okay jokes aside, run .25 miles on a treadmill for two weeks every day, and boost to .5 after the first two, keeping up till your comfortable going up to .75, 1. To be fair, your body needs a month before it is able to adjust to this but the weakest kid in school can pick me up with somewhat low trouble. Yeah I said pick me up, I'm a little kid. Anyway, this does little to your arms (endless you have weak legs and hold onto the safety constantly on the treadmill.) When doing this, stop drinking sodas, food is alright but don't eat a entire Cheetos bag, endless it is hot Cheetos. Oh and by the time you're done you should be like 140-200 pounds depending on body mass and how much you actually worked for it. Also this does effect your stomach if you think it doesn't. |

How to bulk and gain good weight
- Run often, running will throw off carbs, however it is proven that if you fast walk you will throw off more calories than walking however running will build endurance and stamina, so mix both in
- Drink half your body weight(if not more), when you sweat and pee you lose the good weight you gain, so drink plenty of water nonstop.
- Eat 4-5 or 6 times a day(I eat roughly around 6)
- Protein shake 30min - 1 hr prior to workout
- The best type of bread is whole grain or whole wheat, never eat anything else
- Peanut butter is a good source of protein
- Chicken/Steak/Turkey/Beef or ay type of lean meat is good
- Apples and veggies/fruits
- Rice and beans is a good source of carbs
- Bananas, avocados, cottage cheese are especially healthy and good
- Go to a gym, get a personal trainer if you can afford it
- Invent in kettlebells and learn how to workout with them effectively
- Ab workouts will help dramatically. Planks, side planks, v-up holds, etc
so on so forth |

| lifting weights doesnt really get you slim, it just builds up your arm muscles. if you're looking for getting slim then do running and swimming outdoors and eat healthily and accordingly to how much you exercise. |

When I say drink half your body weight I mean with water.
You want to drink orange juice and milk too, those arent bad choices, but water is a good-to option, always and everyday of every hour |

If you're looking to get slim, focus on running.
If you're looking to bulk and get slim, slim first then bulk up |
