I read the blog, I even went as far as makeing a rant(ebfore this), replying to some of the paragraphs. This is beginning to turn into a Donald Trump like thing, everyone either A: Likes it Or B: hates it. Then theres the VERY small amount whom don't care. You may be saying, "But Slayer! The bots are overwelming!" Well young robloxian, theres a simple thing called captcha. It goes much farther then stopped tix farms, it would stop bot alts from logging in as you would have to check those captcha. Also would fix many issues. Hears a quote from a website about em. Question: What is the use of captcha? Answer: For example, humans can read distorted text as the one shown below, but current computer programs can't: The term CAPTCHA (for Completely Automated Public Turing Test To Tell Computers and Humans Apart) was coined in 2000 by Luis von Ahn, Manuel Blum, Nicholas Hopper and John Langford of Carnegie Mellon University.Lets take a quote from that, " humans can read distorted text as the one shown below, but current computer programs can't" That would fix it, if anyone is skilled enough to break past that, they are a worse issue then tix farming. So, no. Don't remove tix. I will even copy and paste the blog and make responses to each paragraph if I must. Lemme quote something from a website to support above. "To determine if a user is human, many Internet companies have implemented “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart” (CAPTCHA) technology into their websites. CAPTCHA generally involves typing in letters and numbers that appear in a photo above a text box. CAPTCHAs often appear before a user writes a comment on a blog, creates an account for a service, buys tickets for an event or fills out a “forgot passw.ord” form.
In 2009, Google GOOGL -0.27% acquired a company called reCAPTCHA to create searchable archives of old newspapers and books. Founded by several computer scientists at Carnegie Mellon University, reCAPTCHA asks users to enter two words that are displayed in distorted text images taken from old newspapers and books. One word is already known by the system, but the other word cannot be deciphered by optical character recognition (OCR) since the ink and paper of the newspapers and books degraded as time passed.
Humans have helped reCAPTCHA digitize millions of newspaper articles and books by solving distorted text puzzles. The New York Times was able to digitize over 12 million of its articles with the help of reCAPTCHA. And Google uses reCAPTCHA to improve their knowledge of the physical world by creating CAPTCHAs to decipher text visible on Street View and Google Maps imagery, increasing the accuracy of both services.
Even though CAPTCHA has been effective at blocking spammers and digitizing media, it has several limitations. CAPTCHAs that do not have an audio option prevent visually impaired users from accessing the protected website. People without visual disabilities have also complained about CAPTCHA because some of the words are too distorted to read. Four years ago, a group of researchers at Stanford University conducted a study by collecting over 300,000 CAPTCHAs used by Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft. The researchers asked humans at (link) and Amazon Mechanical Turk to solve the CAPTCHAs. The researchers displayed the same CAPTCHAs to three different humans, but they agreed on the correct answer only 71% of the time.
Another issue with CAPTCHA is the ability to crack the puzzles using various algorithms. Earlier this year, members of Google’s Street View and reCAPTCHA teams published a paper about an algorithm they used to crack their own CAPTCHA puzzles. “Our research recently showed that today’s Artificial Intelligence technology can solve even the most difficult variant of distorted text at 99.8% accuracy. Thus distorted text, on its own, is no longer a dependable test,” said Google in a blog post. Between the ability to solve the puzzles using artificial intelligence and the issues humans have with reading distorted text, CAPTCHA has plenty of room for improvement. Enter No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA. No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA
Google recently announced a new application programming interface (API) called No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA, which simplifies the process of determining if a user is human. With No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA, users can confirm that they are human by simply clicking on a check box next to the sentence: “I’m not a robot.” No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA is already integrated with services like WordPress, Snapchat and Humble Bundle. No CAPTCHA ReCAPTCHA may look easy for spammers to crack, but Google developed a sophisticated Advanced Risk Analysis backend to consider the user’s engagement with the CAPTCHA before, during and after determining if the user is human. Most users should easily be able to move on by clicking on the check box, but suspicious humans or ”bots” will be forced to answer a distorted text puzzle on desktops or an animal matching test that look like this on mobile devices:" Theres much more but I don't want to be considered spamming. Readying above, if ROBLOX introduced a No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA system, they could stop most TIX farms and many other things. Thus, making there job EASIER, as they would have less things to moderate. If anyone wants, I will copy and paste every paragraph of the blog into this and respond to each one and how its a bad idea overall. If anyone wants, I'll PM them my scorces. |

I agree, read this completely.
The excuse of 'bots' is ridiculous. if roblox just added a CAPTCHA thing when signing up, buying items, or during purchases, and maybe even every couple place visits, it could halt botting.
And limiting E-mails and IP addresses to only a few accounts, say 1 account per email, and 2-4 per IP address , at least more than one as to not interrupt families who share a computer too much. This would make alts more painful and less tolerable to make. Seriously, if you are making a business off alts, you are going to have to make a lot of E-mails, static IP-addresses, just all kinds of annoying stuff, just to make a ton of alts. Just that would make it much less attractive. |

Yes CAPTCHA is the ultimate solution that is being overlooked for some reason.

| Free players will get the guest treatment now because they can't change their appearance anymore. What I meant by free players is that they don't buy anything with real money. Does that mean you need BC to be an official Roblox player now? |

| No offense, but I don't think there's a point in posting all these things when Roblox doesn't even listen to mature people, instead they listen to butthurt kids who get EXTREMELY mad over bots. |

My game will totally die. I won't earn any tickets from a magnificent game just because I'm NBC. Also, don't start saying "Get BC!" because you'll just look like a selfish person who don't know the NBCs' great pain. I worked so hard to create my game and then I don't make income out of it. What's gonna happen now?
The NBCs' pain... IS FAR GREATER THAN YOURS! (wait, this should be my siggy and this is a Naruto reference) |
