By modern hardcore I mean contemporary hardcore punk, post-hardcore, metalcore, etc. Lets throw in deathcore too for fun.
Some number of bands in those genres have some strange trend of either having bad bass players or useless bass players whom they end up firing after a short while. |

| A Day To Remember I am sure has a decent bassist. Keeps his playing on time and in key, I don't feel like there is something missing there when I listen to it. |

"linkin park is decent..."
Well Linkin Park is nu-metal. Nu-metal is actually known (albeit not widely) for making good use of bass players. |

I somehow forgot about Code Orange. They make good use of their bass player most of the time, like in the guitarless passage in the first part of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu13IpcD4mE |

@BENSTILLHAUNTS Do you mind if I tell other people. Who, specifically, make good use of their bass player most of the time, like in the guitarless passage in the first part of this song:https://www? How does it make you feel when youtube make good use of their bass player most of the time, like in the guitarless passage in the first part of this song:https://www?? You have self-awareness. You have enthusiasm for the things you love.

| The only hardcore/closest thing to hardcore I really listen is Glassjaw and Islander and I don't really have any problems with the bass |

| I mean don't get me wrong though they don't play like the bass player for Primus or the old Bass player from Psychostick (His bass playing in the song Pluh was awesome) |
