Alright, to start this off, I'm no experienced player, I've been here around early 2011 with several alts of mine.

Roblox was a game my brother (parrit555) discovered when surfing the web, and we've enjoyed it ever since. I can clearly remember messing around with stamper tools not knowing what it did.

Games at the time were, of course studded brick games, such as downhill smash. The gear and tools were indeed basic but at the time were considered cool and modern. You'd usually find these at the end of obbey's or in the infamous game Survive a Plane Crash.

Roblox didn't change much at the time, but as the years progressed, more and more and more players began joining and the ROBLOX Corporation was in full swing. The only result at the time was more newbies than usual.

And then it came, the turning point in the history of old Roblox. Newbs piled up in games, drowning the amount of veterans and experienced players. Guests, also, began "destroying" the adored games of Roblox.

And then Roblox began to take action. New studio tools were introduced, and game developers began, let me say, developing. The amount of players of roblox had then nearly doubled, although the amount of veterans was at a decline.

Then the games started BREAKING. My favorite game of the time, demolition derby, entirely broken at the time. Even a few parts of stickmasterluke's places, ruined. Tools like "super jump", "teleport", and even "fly", were all broken. Old vote-kick scripts and particular scripts, things that were vital to the game, broken.

And what did Roblox do? Of course they "couldn't" simply revert to previous lua codes, they moved on. And what else did they do? Add more studio tools, the exact opposite of what WE asked for, the COMMUNITY of Roblox.

Time ticked by, and then the BC games came, and a fraction of all Roblox games were unplayable to people, like me, to earn more profit.

Profit. That's what BC means to Roblox. And as soon as that there were BC hats, BC gear, BC everything. Of course I've had BC before, but at the time it was an outrage.

Roblox studio began to, yet again, upgrade. Even though we didn't need it, things got miss-matched and replaced, and building games became harder.

And then Roblox introduce paid access, one of the most hated Roblox features of all time. How is it fair for me to waste all of my in-game and out-of-game money to simply play a game? They aren't worth my $4.00!
Price floors, for clothing, were also introduced. This feature, of all features, is the most
hated.
disliked.
and overall unfair features of Roblox. What roblox says? "Price floors allow developers to attain a substantial amount of currency for their creations". Roblox then lowered the price floors to 100 tickets and 10 Robux because of all the hate.

Roblox had been hosting several fun events at the time, such as the Easter egg hunts, Christmas events, and so on and most of them took place on the character Games. But then it started slowing down.

Before I carry on to that subject, something else happened that changed the face of Roblox.
Robloxian 3.0.
A short description of it: A package that slightly mocks the design of LEGO Brand, has an awkward chin, a strikingly creepy face, and a blocky design that Roblox seemed to cherish.
New players, shall I say noobs, all looked like a basic blocky makeup that wasn't really disliked. But then roblox destroyed it:
An ugly character that has the 3.0 package, a motorcycle shirt, A new smile face that ruined the basic previous smile, and hair that looks like bacon smothered in Barbeque (sounds tasty ;-;). Online Daters, what Roblox utterly bans, began flocking to roblox with these new packages and before soon "Adopt and raise a-" sort of games popped up on the front page.

As more fun games and events progressed, Roblox came to a halt. Half a year went by without an event, and people started getting nervous. Then an event popped up, but not a regular one. It was sponsored. Before soon, Game's stopped making, games.

In the Roblox Currency, as we all know, one robuck was worth ten tickets. Roblox thought otherwise and now we have to save half a week to get merely a single robuck.

Prices starting going high, really high. Go to the catalog right now, and come back and tell me what you saw. I don't think a set of headphones is worth five hundred robux, do you?

Then the entire face of roblox, the literal face, the screen you literally stare at, changed. Buttons now have a "Bubble" form to them. Things again got mismatched and hard to find. Hundreds of players quit.

It isn't that hard to find a player who has the "quit" t-shirt on. I've seen many, have you?

In-game, things changed too. A cool new loading screen, which isn't bad, a new player list, nothing horrible. But then the devs put the inventory and menu buttons way up on the top of the screen, and inventory management was as hard as heck.

And a topic I forgot, spammers. A simple rule, IGNORE THEM. Don't add character limits! It's irritating! And as that, the comments section became a war zone.

And then friends and followers came, a little add-on that a few disliked, and for this reason: It's Just. plain. creepy. Roblox isn't twitter or Facebook! It's a GAME!

Then audio and models and decals got moved to a library, hidden in the develop tab, which is very inconvenient to us. It was perfectly fine in the catalog.

And the new profiles, it was added this week, and it is one of my personally disliked features. I no longer can see my favorites easily. I don't know what games my friends like anymore. My places are, below my character? My inventory is a slideshow? What is this? we aren't all on MOBILE! Stop adoring it! Most games throw up in my Ipad's face when I try to play them!

And this pretty much wraps up what I have to say on this forum post. Wait! the forum!

And as the final subject, the forum. A place where experienced players get away from it all, but we better like it before, it, too, changes.
Please, Roblox, why?

@trainlover123123 I absolutely adore what you said throughout this post. I'm a veteran myself. I've had a history of three accounts, I'd say that's fair enough. I agree with what you said about the profile update. We aren't all on mobile as you said, and it seems after Erik Cassel died, all chaos has been unleashed. It's a true shame to all of us veterans. But it seems as if Roblox is catering to the newer generation about to come through.

I hope this was motivating at least a little bit. I know there are few typos but I sat of my chair for an hour thinking of Roblox.

And all that came out of your mouth or keys was the cold hard truth. Thank you for making this post, it's made me sit back in my chair and think as well.

Thanks all of you. I really appreciate it, and I look forward to seeing Roblox taking a step back and looking at this wall of words, but as of course that will most likely not happen.

I've been on both sides.
I started as a player, and evolved into a developer.
You shouldn't be complaining about the price floors. But yes, you are right, not everyone is a mobile user. In fact, more people use the desktop version. Why does roblox have to use a browser for the roblox app and not fetch data and draw it instead?

This recaps everytihng I remember (and missed) during my time. I've been on since May of 2010; over 5 years. I used to be in playing fun games with real life friends, and messing around with the stamper tool. I then joined a War Clan, which was an up and rising part of Roblox. It helped encourage development and social interactivity and play.

We watched those groups grow, and we made player bases and were social with each other as if we knew everyone.

Then everything wen to sh.t.

All of these weird updates came up, and people started quitting, going inactive, and my entire friend base was decimated. (this was in 2012). There were no good games left (Solar Conquest is a ghost town :'( )and none of my friends were online anymore. This pretty much sums up 2010-12; 2010 being the fun, cool time when things advanced and players started groups and socialized and had fun with stupid games. 2012 being the time Roblox stopped listening and the good player base died.

I eventually went inactive myself, hibernating, if you will.

I came back in 2014 to this playerbase of packages, limited hats, weird/copied places (yet some good games) and Sword clans.

I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed war clans. Ranged fighting was fun with strategy with friends and socializing on the group wall. Since the fall of Gun clans, sword clans are alright, but it's 1v1 tactics, and not enjoyable. Now, war clans are a thing of the past :/

Anyways, now I see 3.0s, adopt an idiot, and all of these stupid, unnecessary updates Roblox has implemented. I remember someone stating 2013 or 14 as 'the dark days', but they couldn't be more wrong.

Ends my schpeel on MY history, and sorry for invading your thread, but it just shows the similarities and how Roblox's history has affected us.

Although to be fair, the new studio features are vital for both sides, since developers have more power and the players get better games
"it makes newbags confused!"
When was the last time anyone REALLY wanted to script?
When roblox was advertised as a developing platform. Now its a fashion game, because of its advertising.

aha, right.

@Above ^^^ I don't mind the new studio, I've gotten accustomed to it, because it wasn't TOO bad in change, the shapes and systems were pretty similar, but this latest change is just... WTF.

to be honest the old roblox studio layout was confusing
the new one has less buttons and has tooltips and labels
