I just read the new blog post (http://blog.roblox.com/2016/03/saying-goodbye-to-tickets/) and I can say I am less then confident in the legitimacy of roblox’s claims. As of yet I am unsure of the exact repercussions of this is, but if my understanding is accurate, this will affect many low level developers like me, and actually probably impact anyone who makes anything on roblox. Lets look at how this impacts creators on roblox.
To start, there will be less money on roblox. Roblox claims this is to stop alting, but let’s look at how much the average payer makes. Right now you get 10tix per day, and 20tix is worth 1 RB, so a player makes .5 robux per day. Now lets look at how much a alt makes. To move the robux between accounts, as a NBC you need to make a paid access place which the minimum is 25 robux. To get 25 robux takes 50 days, and roblox takes 30% of every transaction so that equals out to getting 17 robux every 50 days per alt. 17/50= is 0.34 robux per alt per day, and you would only get more robux every 50 days. Now an entry level BC player makes 10 robux per day. 10/.34=29.4, so you need 30 alts to make the same as a single BC player. How many people are going to make 30 alts instead of paying 6 dollars a month? So alting isint exactly feasible, but let’s look where tix almost always ends up. The pockets of those who make games, clothing ect, with the cost of hats and gear it’s rare to see people pay for that stuff.
Clothing makers will make many fewer sales. While there will be a elite few who make more because roblox will pay them to distribute their cloths for free, the majority will make far less. Roblox will be making only the best clothing free, and if that’s the case, why would anyone buy the non free stuff? While not a cothing maker myself, I bet if you look at your sales history, a decent percentage is from NBC players.
Now I operate a game that has 48k plays as of now, and I decided to look at how much I made in the last 3 days, and what percentage was made by BC. In the last 3 days I made a total of 160 RB, and 30 of that was NBC. Doing the math, that’s 18.75% of my total profits. This will probably be scalar, so anyone who operates a game can expect probably around a 15-25% drop in profits.
A third group of people who will be killed off are clans. With no ambient income, most members will not be able to afford uniforms, and roblox is doubtful to make them free.
Roblox is a corporation, it’s to be expected that they want to make the largest margin possible. But please, don’t say you’re getting rid of tix because it’s confusing. You are doing it because it makes you more money, and in the process it will harm the creators on this platform. You’re not making things better with your (the electronic mail) account that will probably not even be read, you are making things worse by destroying the clothing industry and cutting the profits of game creators.
(if you are a content creator, I would ask that you see how much you make off of NBC players as a percentage, and post it here so we can see exactly what kind of impact this will have)

Although this update does concern me I feel like it's not life-ending. To be honest the main thing I don't like about it is that there is now no money value in simply creating a place for all users to enjoy with no paid perks. I expect to see a rise in games which offer paid perks due to this which I was never too big a fan of. I also do agree that this mainly helps the already successful developers game devving wise. However, I do like that they are making more ways for developers to notice.
Overall, I think this will be the most interesting roblox update and although I'm particularly not a fan I do like the other updates which are coming with it. |

| The people who this update benfit the most are the free users who dont make stuff on roblox ironically (they now will get alot more free stuff, which considering a shirt costs a month of tix, having mutable free is good). Anyone who makes anything on roblox however will be hurt by this, no matter how big or small you are (though the smaller ones get it worse). Roblox could very well kill the entire clothing industry with this. |

My rate just dropped to 30.1 from 18.4, I just lost 15k Robux.

The only severe impact I see is that you don't get revenue from place visits anymore which means you'll have less $$ to re-advertise your game.
Clothing developers will definitely make less but I don't think game developers will see anything that bad. |

| Kitty you just failed to read the entire artical. Roblox devs will be making 15-25% less without factoring the loss of tix for visits and the best shirts in the market will be made free, meaning that their is no reason to buy clothing anymore. |

SUPPORT! and my opinion
ok lemme check all the options I can share my project to the public: -ads: you have to pay ROBUX (real life money) X -you can send an email: ok but what if they don care X ok lets see other options... ERROR! First off i don't think TIX was confusing or bad in any way. If there were "issues" and after going "into it" and you "came up with" the result that TIX was the core problem then you just destroyed ROBLOX. Why ROBLOX is (should I be saying WAS?) great was because it was mostly free (games, clothing, advertising, even VIP'S!) and by free I mean you just had to be active.You could have just changed the way TIX worked not taking it out (cough after all it is you website you know cough)! Now only people who have money to waste will be able to present their (probably pointless) projects. The gardener (ROBLOX staff) just pulled out the wrong root of the plant (ROBLOX) and now its choking and dying. What do you think?! |
