Re: Does Roblox have older players?

Roblox is a game for everyone right? But you kind of get the feeling besides the admins and a few people that just develop games, Roblox sort of isn't for everyone.
Which, I've always looked at as kind of weird. Its not unusual for older people to play minecraft for creative purposes, and Roblox has more features and is more advanced, but seems to have a much larger following of kids/teens.
So, I mean, what happened there? |

There are players that are more mature in terms of age, yes, and I (as well as many other individuals) have deduced that a good portion of those people tend to stay for very common reasons such as nostalgia, however, you did mention those who develop games and whatnot, and to that I'd say that you are correct.
Aside from those that remain for nostalgic purposes, you have individuals that simply wish to learn more-so about things such as scripting and/or building - people who are genuinely interested in constructing things from scratch and seeing said things succeed and/or fail, to alert them of what they may need to improve on and/or proceed with.
Futures are built here, obviously, and I suppose that (again, as you mentioned) that is just one of the many reasons that ROBLOX retains older players.

@Archemyde
That was extremely well put. What you described is exactly why I'd imagine this game would have a larger portion of older players. In terms of being able to create something entirely from your mind with no previous skills, I'm yet to see something as good as this, whilst at the same time allowing people to go into more complex things like learning a scripting language if they want to.
"Futures are built here". That really got me thinking about how this game affected me and has very likely changed where I would be if I wasn't here. It's strange now I think about it, I don't think I've ever had a game do that before.
Anyway it's nice to see I can still get some genuine answers on the forums here. |
