Hi! I am new to this rp forum, I have a question on how you roleplay as your characters. Do you guys use this format....
Jake: -goes to room- time to play my video games -turns on computer and plays roblox-
Or this format
Jake goes to his room. He says "Time to play my video games" He then goes and turns on his computer and plays roblox.
I mostly prefer the first one, but idk if you guys use that format here. |

Run far away from this forum as possible.
Ask not what this forum can do for you, but what you can do for this forum. |

| We use the second format. Many people do NOT accept the first. |

| People more commonly use the second format, but honestly, just use whatever format you feel more comfortable with. |

| Try the second format when RPing here. Also, Dan, you never really drove me out when I first appeared out of nowhere, lol. |

| Huh, Peram? No no no, you're mistaken, that was when I actually did things relevant to RPF opposed to crapposting, procrastinating and making people feel bad and unwelcome here! |

Think of it this way, if you make a roleplay with the first format then you'll feel comfortable. Because you'll never ever be in a roleplay and you won't get attached to this wretched place we call a community. LEAVE NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE WRAPPED IN YOUR ARMS AS YOU CRY TO SATAN TO FREE YOU OF THIS SUFFERING.

either way, it doesn't matter, does it?
as long as your writing is decent, it shouldn't.
of course, there are the opinionated dumbasses like Tim who think their way is better than everyone else's.
or maybe the samurai, who had cool ARMOR and a code of HONOR, and wore a variety of COLORS. |

| Birm, you really need to take a third grade spelling class if you are unable to spell simple words such as "armour", "honour" and "colours". |

| Tim, you actually need to take a 5th grade social studies/world geography/history class if you are unable to understand simple concepts such as cultures and spellings differing depending on the area |

| You ought to take a sixth grade English class where they teach you that etymology is really interesting and how to not only know how to pronounce a word from it's spelling but roughly approximate it's etymology from the spelling. (For instance, "table", "centre" and "metre" are all from French because they sound like "E-consonant" and are spelt "consonant-E" at the end). |

Tim you forgot this is America
I've never even heard that term, but like me and everyone else has pointed out many times, things change over time. Unless I'm being dumb, and there's a high chance I might be, American spellings and English spellings are sort of like Latin and the languages branching off from it. Over time the spellings and words changed. For America, I think it's kind of like that but on a much smaller scale. For the most part, the language has stayed the same, but as time went on, for whatever reason, America began to use "colors" over "colours", "meter" over "metre", etc. However, regardless of how these spellings took hold, you can't really be mad at me or any other American for using those spellings; it's what we learned in school and got used to using. |

English is Germanic, not Romance. Take a linguistics class at literally any grade and you will be laughed out of the classroom. That being said, spellings don't change that significantly. If you can read and speak modern Icelandic, for instance, you can read the fking Eddas and the fking Sagas, and those are 13th century and pre-Christian Scandinavia respectively. The reason that American spelling doesn't say anything about the etymology is because some American dictionary writers were extraordinarily lazy and probably drunk, and in an effort to separate themselves from England they mutilated their own language.
And I can be mad at whoever I fking want for whatever I fking want. Do you have any idea who the hell I am? I'm the fking maniac that gets pissed off at everyone for everything. |

| Are you learning just the difference between nouns and verbs, or are you learning, for instance, the difference between a transitive and a non-transitive verb? |

Just learning about nouns and verbs
Nothing special
I don't think I've learned anything new in LA since 3rd grade |

| Well, that explains a significant amount about why you still use American English rules instead of English rules. |
