[JUSTICE DIVISION] [OPERATION]
Court cases are held when an incident report requesting a court session while providing enough evidence, credibility, and detail is filed. When a court case is held personnel are promoted for the case, then removed from the rank once the case is resolved.
Most court cases are scheduled ahead of time when all court members can attend the session.
[RANKS]
Court Audience: Personally selected members to attend the court session.
Detonated Witnesses: Witnesses specifically called to relay information toward the court case by the parties.
Jury: A group of people who may judge upon a person's case.
Judge: Oversees and decides the final judgement in a court session.
Attorney General: A synonym for "Director", directs the DoJD.
[COURTS REVIEW]
There are THREE types of courts, given below. Court personnel know which court they are a member of, all court personnel are only a member of one court. __________________________________________________________________ NC - “No Court” | This situation does not require court action and should be carried out according to existing group guidelines, rules, forums, norms, etc.
LC - “Lower Court” | The circumstance requires the lowest court, which specializes in minor cases ranging from a personnel attempting to charge another personnel with murdering them, or a small group of personnel arguing with another. The lower court is obviously the lowest of all courts and is the only court that can be “skipped” over. Cases can go immediately to the Middle Court, but never immediately to the High Court. An example of a lower court case is given below:
Dr. Murderer slaughters Dr. AFK, his justification being “He was AFK and in such a position we could not continue testing” Dr. AFK believes this was bad justification and requests Dr. Murderer is demoted. This situation would be handled by the lower court.
MC - “Middle Court” | Cases requiring the middle court have a severity due to their involvement with numerous personnel. They involve personnel wanting to take action upon an entire Department or its administrative staff. Middle Court cases also work with personnel charged with being in an active state of disloyalty to the Foundation, such as “traitors”. As cases involving the middle court must be fairly significant, clear evidence of the scenario and/or multiple witnesses must be available. Finally, the middle court takes place with large amounts of lower-ranking department personnel rivaling lower-ranking personnel of another department. This is different from what the lower court handles because it involves a vast majority of the department, its low ranks. Note however, it does not handle disputes involving department administrative staff. An example is given here:
The Ethics Committee fails to respond to Dr. Example’s ethics report on Dr. Unethical, and Dr. Example requests that the Ethics Committee administrative staff are replaced with others. This situation would be handled by the middle court.
HC - “High Court” | The high court reigns over all other courts, only topped by one court that is rarely used. Only the largest and worst of circumstances will be handled by the high court, an example being two departments on the verge of practical war with each other or a personnel starting a revolt against an action put in place by Administration. The High Court requires an extremely high amount of evidence to present, both physical and through witnesses. It is the only court capable of trialing Administrative actions and undoing them depending on the outcome of the court session. Here is an example of what would be handled by the High Court:
O5-X places a restriction on the permissions of a department, the department claims this action oversteps the bounds of an individual O5 and requests for their removal from the Council.
SC - “Supreme Court” | The Supreme Court is the ultimate court dealing with the highest personnel in the Foundation. The Supreme Court deals with cases between members of the Council or Site Directors/Commands in some cases. Supreme Court cases are handled and judged solely by the Administrator himself (This does mean you can’t send the Administrator into trial, sorry. I’ll do my best to ensure no one wants to take me to trial.) The Supreme Court also deals with other cases, however, further information is classified. Situations:
PERSONNEL v PERSONNEL: LC PERSONNEL v DEPARTMENT*: MC DEPARTMENT v PERSONNEL: If personnel is within Department pressing charges: NC If personnel is not within Department pressing charges: LC ADMINISTRATION v ADMINISTRATION: SC DEPARTMENT v ADMINISTRATION*: HC ADMINISTRATION v DEPARTMENT: NC DEPARTMENT v DEPARTMENT: MC PERSONNEL v ADMINISTRATION*: MC ADMINISTRATION v PERSONNEL: NC
Note(s):
Actions against department/personnel by Administration do not require anything more than justification, however, that justification can be trialed and possibly undone. Rarely can an action by Administration be simply stopped before it even occurs.
Just because a court is listed does not guarantee that situation will be handled by that court. It all varies on circumstance and of course, common sense. Some cases may never reach court due to insufficient evidence or reasoning to make a decent trial.
*: This situation cannot be handled the same when backwards
