𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐏𝐆
This is basically just an informative post on plans for Outlands and its official announcement so people can get more involved on the game's creation.
Off Topic seems appropriate since I'm not trying to get help on 'Game Design' or anything like that.
𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧
Basically, Outlands RPG will consist of multiple classes which can preform specific abilities and have class-specific items. These classes can be ranked up to an upgraded version of that class.
There will be many features that I will explore to try to give a unique experience, and the few people assisting me with this game's development are also generating ideas at a fast pace.
𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩 / 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬
Many of these features I'd wish to keep undercover, but why not just announce them all to inspire others and give more information on how this RPG will play out?
⊛ Advanced levelup algorithm (not simple math heh) ⊛ Custom inventory system and possible removal of all CoreGui ⊛ A plethora of items and weapons of different types ⊛ Multiple classes and certain areas of that class, which will also involve a feature in which the player can re-play the game with harsher conditions in return for higher rankings and more weapon/item uses or abilities ⊛ Casting and Cursing: Casting will give you defensive buffs or healing-related effects (basically nothing evil) and Cursing will deal more damage, or simply add powerful and menacing effects ⊛ Extremely user-compatible weapon creation in case somebody else wanted to create a weapon for the game ⊛ Possible website or separate gameserver to allow for the above feature to be submitable by all users automatically ⊛ Multiple weapon types, including bows, hammers, axes, swords, claymores, and even early forms of simple machinery including crossbows and related ⊛ PvP, but also in specific arenas that a player can warp to ⊛ PvP Looting, in which, if the PvP match says so, the players can loot the drops of another killed player. The killed player will not be able to retrieve these items back unless the player who killed them agrees to do so. This will be a toggle-able feature between specific PvP arenas. ⊛ Advanced trading system, involving game currency, separate items, and gifting items. Note: If the weapon has a level cap, gifting a player with a level too low will NOT receive the item ⊛ Server Events, multiple at once. Three server events will be on every 5 minutes; you can teleport to either server event using an in-game UI or at spawn. ⊛ Custom NPC-chat interface allowing for specific replies and easy-to-use shops

@Awesomesauce okay i really dont want to turn this into a dumbfounded argument but
tbh i think roblox doesn't have enough rpgs
that's not why i'm making one though, i just want to develop a game that isn't some crappy joke with 0 development skill
and you may be like
"o but rpgs require 0 development skill"
if you think that way then come back to me after you remove your butterfly freemodel from your game, or at least make them only appear during daytime, dayum. |

anyway freemodels are free and meant to be taken
i was just saying that freemodels require 0 development skill to implement into your game
i didn't insult your game for having a freemodel, i just put making an RPG by hand VS making an rpg with 100 toolbox searches

i'm actually heavily relying on the classic linkedsword script for my game
(see, a lot of people use freemodels .0.)
however i'm making it work with a custom module that the backpack items can globally access depending on what sword it is
it'll also have custom function support so anyone could customize a sword however, from animations or just keeping it like the old LinkedSword script
call it lazy idc, i'm just trying to keep things classic. |
