Stuns
Stuns are a pretty lazy way to make something powerful, on games like chivalry short swords can be extremily op if you're quick about it and keep hitting the target.
Time sequences.
A lazy way to add immersion and graphics, it's an interactive movie by that point. |

limited-use items (when you can only use weapons a limited number of times) idc if this is lazy or not, but it is beyond annoying/dumb

Vote to kick systems.
Instead of playing it smart and making the ip blocked from the server a lot of them just block the name. This is why I left l4d2 a guy kept murdering us all then calling a vote to kick so we could not kick him. When we finally kick him he just renames himself, after he does that eventually he changes his name back and starts the process of cold blooded murder again. |

Adding a ridiculous amount of HP to an enemy screams 'artificial difficulty'
there are some bosses in Trove that are only 'difficult' because it takes 5 minutes to wittle down their HP |

| when content in a game is the same exact thing but copied and pasted to make it seem like there's a lot of content (see article: literally everything in watch_dogs besides campaign and gang hideouts) |

I have not played watch dogs.
But it sounds like an overhyped game. |

Point and Click. (most games) Micro-Transactions. Quick Time Events. Backtracking just to make the game longer. Having to re-do campaigns. (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, GODZILLA: THE GAME) |

@pers
way to miss the point of the post.. that's artificial difficulty, a very lazy trait in some devs
instead of having to memorize a moveset or dodge incoming attack sequences, or changing forms or requiring timing or anything of the sort, it just has 1000000000 hp 'wow guize it takes so long xD must mean its hard' |

Padding.
*cough* Ride to hell. ...That game has all of the issues ever said in this thread and its replies.
I hate padding even more than grinding, speaking of grinding it actually ties into padding: Increasing hours of gameplay for...No reason.
Final Fantasy Explorers has quite a lot of padding...
"Kill 5 regular enemies that have no threat level, you gotta grind drops anyway but we'll force you to for good measure."
"Go kill this boss again, with slightly higher stats."
The new boss fights make it worth it though, still wish the padding wasn't there though... |
