http://www.roblox.com/games/377494040/OpenGun#!/game-instances
here's how the mechanics work:
The more health you have, the less damage will be applied with a critical hit. You will no matter what take the base damage. (by default 10)
The less health you have, the more damage you take at a random chance between two variables, critMin and critMax. These are by default 1 and 10 respectively. an RNG number is generated between critMin and critMax, and adds up another variable, critDamage that many times.
On top of this, it is scaled to your current health with the formula critScale / humanoid.Health.
By default the scale is 50. Raising it makes the damage at lower healths bigger, lowering it softens the critical blow.
hence, if you are at say 20 health, and the RNG number returns 6, and critDamage is 2, you take 10 damage (base damage) + 30 crit damage, for a total of 40 damage.
if you are at 60 health and it returns 6, critDamage is 2, you take 10 damage + 10 crit damage, for a total of 20.
you can of course tweak everything to your liking it's all open source and the config handles this as well |
