First, I am going to state that in no way at all you can be guaranteed a 100% chance to make it on the front page of Roblox games. This is only a guidline for how somebody such as you can create a game that has the ability to be successful.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Imagination Stage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Every great game has come from that one moment in somebody's mind where they have this brilliant idea, a lightbulb glowing as some say. This is how you, the next game creator of roblox, must begin. If you try to hard to get an idea, that idea will not be original. So, the next time you start walking down the street just look around and try to combine pictures and ideas together to make something that nobody has ever thought of before, it is more simple than one might think.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Planning Stage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Every game has to start somewhere, and if you try to go full steam ahead; you are more likely to run out of gas before you make it a mile down the road. Picture your game as a fire, what will your fire need to stay lit, and growing (yes, even fires need to grow to stay burning at a good rate). Ever single part of the flame coming off of that fire will soon be huddled by your public users, the people playing your game, so the larger the fire (ideas and concepts) and the longer it lasts, the more people will join the huddle. So this is where you need to make your guide, when do I want to add this part, or this feature, or this new type of tree for example. If you can set up a plan to feed your game on a constant rate, you are more likely to have a game that attracts more people day in and day out as well as keep those veteran players coming back for more action.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Starting the Game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
This is where most people hit a dead end, to be honest I have hit a wall right here a few times in the past as well. When you plan a game you sometimes misjudge your own capabilities. So here is where we need to buckle down.
- Start a new game with a baseplate (or terrain if you are one of those people) - Add a spawn so there is a 99% chance a player can't fall through the map upon spawning and give you the red thumbs down - Add a few pieces of scenery, doesn't have to be a tree or a car or a mountain, just enough to give a starting world to enable further development - Add tools that have basic uses (try to limit use of free models down to a single item if you just can't make it on your own) - Add your very first objective in the game so this will allow you to test bugs along the way %%% If you are making a survival game, make the objective to survive and add a basic health system( doesn't even have to work yet)
This is all just to give a starting image to your game, most of this will later be removed 94% of the time.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Updating and Upgrading >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Nobody likes the same boring game, if they did we would all still be playing games like 'Destroy the Bridge' or 'Build and Race' or one of the better know games 'Survival 404' (Not to hate on Davidii at all, he inspired me a few times and I still love his work). Try to set an update schedule to maybe one update a week, or ever 10 days a new update just to keep people coming back to your game. If you continue to be original then nobody will be able to compete with you for they will be the one who looks stupid when they create a game saying it is the next in the line from your game yet yours is still getting new things added onto it. This is the only way you have a chance to compete in the overall game war that is currentling battling out on Roblox.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Advertising/Funds >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The one stage every game creator forgets when trying to make their game popular. This is why you get 10 Tickets a day when you log on, this is to help make sure that you get 5 new people on your game a day, then later 50, then 500, then 5,000, then to where you have set the record for becoming the most popular game on Roblox to date. To dumb it down for those who are unable to understand, if you do not advertise, you will not make it anywhere in the game industry and all of your hardwork will go to waste and just collect dust. This might be the most exspensive part when developing a game for most people but once you get the game popular it will start to pay for itself to the point where you can start working on more games than just that one, the most important thing to do is never go and spend your profit on getting that new hat that Roblox just released in the catalog because if you do you might end up not being able to advertise your game and then lose your spot on the game page.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Asking for Help >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
This part is not to be last but it is not to be first either. Help is all around you, you just need to be able to attract it. If you start out by asking for help before you even have the basics of a game out then everybody will want more money than you will in the end be able to promise. Takening payments into account if you ever get help from somebody or a group of people make sure that you give credit to them and uphold your promise because they are the ones who will be able to bring your game down if you do not give them what you promised from the begininng.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Free Models >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Shocking to be putting this is a post about making a game successful. Back in my day if you used free models you would never get a single visit from that player ever again, but today it is more of a variety then it was back then so it will be able to help you more than you may think. Don't use it as the main source of your game or else you will not be able to become successful but for example if you needed to make a really awesome gun with ammo and all sorts of stuff with guis and wanted it very complex and you needed this for a truckload of models then don't be afraid to take a look around. If you take a free model and use it as it is or modify it, try to give the owner credit as much as you can or else if somebody just happens to find out then your rep will no longer be on the climb but on the downfall to being know as what people now call 'FAIL'.

You just inspired me to not give up on my game, now i just need funds and to get my game out of the Alpha stage at least.
Want to check it out? Its called Social Life 2, the sequel to a completely free modeled game that is inactive now. Social Life 1, well was more of a test, and if people liked it, which they did, then i'd make a better one and make it on my own as much as i possibly could. The game idea is completely original, never before attempted, or if it has, i dont know about it, and that's why im determined to make it a real game; to make it worth my time.
Nobody wants to spend hours and hours and HOURS creating a game and then not have any body play it. By the time the game is out of Beta, i predict it being a lot of time spent. Its not even IN Beta yet and its already taken a 5 hours or so to get it this far. (Estimated)
And now ive ran into a wall, i cant afford advertisements and now when i add more teleporters they murder players (After the roblox studio update i got)
But with this post, i am going to fix it. I AM GOING TO EARN MONEY!
AND I AM GOING TO MAKE THIS GAME WORTH MY TIME AND GIVE PLAYERS A GOOD EXPERIENCE! |

| To the hater above, I actually wrote this all from my experiences over the long time I have been on roblox and from talking with many great creators that most of the new roblox players do not know of. So thank you for hate mail but try better next time :) |

| I want to mention this to anybody else who has a comment that is ment to put a bad image on a person should be kept to themselves because it not only can affect the person who the comment is directed to but also the people who are reading your comment after you have made it. |

| You make it sound pretty simple. But I appreciate the last paragraph on free models; lots of people even today will shun you if you use free models when they're actually there to be used. People are hardheaded. Ugh. |
