A man with a heavy jacket and beanie hat wondered towards the front gate.
An officer shouted: "Sir, please stop walking towards us."
The man continued to trail on. Backpack on, as he drew closer it was apparent that he had been hiking in the dense snow and freezing cold for an extremely long time.
"Sir, PLEASE stop walking. [To his walkie:] Civilian is not complying, Stage 1."
All of the armed guards in front of the checkpoint raised their weapons and focused their attention on the man.
The man seemed determined and was clearly not intimidated. He pressed on, at least slowing his speed.
"Sir, STOP walking. That's an order! [To his walkie:] Further noncompliance, Stage 2."
Officers came from inside the checkpoint, and the ones already standing there steadied themselves and got a better angle on the man. Safeties came off, and those who has not done so previously readied their weapon.
The man seemed a bit distraught, but he didn't stop moving. He slowed to a crawl, but he didn't stop.
"Sir, this is your LAST warning. Stop moving or we will kill you. [To his walkie:] Extreme recklessness, Stage 3."
A spotlight hit the man, and machine guns on top of the wall of the checkpoint were pointed directly at him.
This, finally, got the man to stop.
