Next time, roll up tissues and put it up your nostrils to hopefully stop the constant flow. Also apply soft pressure against it (do not rub)
Don't die.

pinch nose, tilt head forward
if it's bleeding a medium/heavy flow for at 20+ minutes, consult your doctor
if your vision starts going black, you start feeling weak, or you become dizzy (the latter two not just if you get queasy from the site of blood), call 911/999 immediately

Whatever you do don't tilt your head backwards. Everyone says that but it can lead to blood dripping into your throat and choking you.
Also 40 minutes is a bit of a long time. That's something you should talk to your doctor about. |

you have some clotting issues meaning your blood is too thin and won't clot.
so you have way to much sugar in ur diet with not enough proteins or you have an actual medical disease |

those aren't reasons for lack of blood clotting except the diseases part
blood sugar doesn't effect platelets, and the proteins are actually blood proteins - they're completely different from the digested proteins that you eat
if he had a medical disease, it'd probably be hemophilia, in which case he probably would know about it and he would've gone to the ER
he probably has a vitamin K deficiency or had a bit of a nasal hemorrhage (it could also be from a few other things, but those two are the most likely)

| I get some that last pretty long, but you should get a blood clot after all that time. A |
