I've only taken two college classes but it's not much more different
I mean, the work is harder, the class sizes are (sometimes) bigger, and your schedule has more customization
But you'll adjust pretty fast really |

| It's actually easier than high school, and the atmosphere is far more friendly. |

| You get to make your own decisions. No teachers holding your hand and walking you through all the steps. |

well how do they expect you to graduate if they don't teach you all the steps
its a trap and those colleges should be shut down tbh |

@Joe
Colleges are centers of research and intellectual enrichment. You're supposed to be given the guidelines, and figure out the steps yourself. |

I might as well not even go to college then its becoming less valuable as the years go on |

its hard, but very rewarding. and professors understand that the material they teach is hard (this means they often curve the grade). for instance, in one of my classes a 40/100 is considered "great" by the professor because of the difficulty of the course.
just do your readings and homework, pay attention, and you'll be fine.

pho isn't exactly right, at least where I go to college. they don't hold your hand, but they don't just let you go either. they give you what's necessary. I will say though that sometimes there is a huge leap from lectures to homework; lectures will present a concept with an easy example and homeworks will take that concept to an extreme, to force you to think critically.

the environment is a huge shift, no matter your upbringing. suddenly you're on a large campus with completely student-run organizations, multiple buildings and agencies/departments occupying those buildings...
it takes getting used to.
if it makes you feel better, the way I explain it is "high school, but without the stupid rules like no gum in class" IE its better
