why do people throw around that word so freely i don't think a lot of people know what that means either that or they just equate being annoyed/mad at something with the kind of nightmares and flashbacks that ptsd sufferers experience

Social justice culture caused the word triggered to become a meme.

yea you're right, it's our problem now, cus people don't take our illnesses seriously :/ i can't even ask someone to put a trigger warning on r@pe-related posts or material without having at least one person make a joke about it

im sorry to break the bad news but the world keeps spinning despite how random strangers online use a word that is associated with your mental condition.
and just as a fyi, most people dont joke about the genuine mental-health side of triggers, it became a joke because of sj/pc culture online. you dont say "haha im triggered" in the sense of making fun of people who actually have been through some traumatic experience. you say it as a way of making fun of the people who claim to have triggers or need a trigger warning when the context of the situation never warranted it in the first place. THATS why its a meme now, it has nothing to do with ptsd or any other similar illness' |

mental illness
is
something
that
can
be
controlled
don't be sjw and speak for the entirety of all mental people if you yourself are not one
we don't need people speaking on our behalf, much less throwing lies around like "we can't control it" |

@beau
I've grown over the fact that I had a mental illness.
Can't treat it like a weakness, nor a strength, you have to ignore it and live life like a normal person.
If you aren't capable of that, you just want attention. |
