Today's word is something nobody likes (unless you do like it): School.
Spanish: escuela (f) Chinese: 学校 (xuéxiào) Japanese: 学校 (Gakkou) Korean: 학교 (hag-gyo)
Notes: *The (f) next to escuela indicates its gender for this series. In this case it is feminine. In Spanish, gender is one of the most confusing parts of the language as some aspects of it rely on gender.
For example:
la escuela (f) el caballo (m)
The first part is the word "the" but notice how it is different because of the gender. Other parts like adjectives are affected by this as well. *Due to Japanese Kanji, the written form for "school" is the same as Chinese. |
