Well it's mid season and since this forum got so much attention last season when I did it, I figure why not do it again. Now warning you may disagree with me on some of these choices but these are who I think personally are deserving of nominee so far. Arguing with me won't change my opinion.
Announcement: Even though I discontinued stats because I don't have time to do them, I'd still like stat keepers to take stats so the voting process for awards is more accurate.
(+): If a + is next to a stat of yours it is because I don't have a stat sheet with your week 5 stats. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ MVP:
This award is by far the most honorable in the OFL. Lets take a look back at previous MVP winners since the award came out in S4. S4: Cptkush (Snowhawks), S5: Fred Man (Raptors), S6: LordJallace (Rams), S7: Bunglest (Firecats) --- shoulda been heal tho, and S8: Treko50 (Punishers). These are my top 3 candidates for MVP midway through the season.
1. LannyPooo (Spartans): Before I talk about Lanny, keep in mind in no way do purposely bias my forums so don't accuse me of it. LannyPooo came into this season more prepared for 8v8 then any other QB. Playing the hardest SOS, he has turned the Spartans from a dark horse into a popular VB choice among people in the OFL. Through 5 games this season, Lanny has racked up 1410 passing yards, the best TD INT ratio of 20:1, 129 rushing yards proving that he is also mobile when need be, and even a receiving TD for 46 yards. There isn't one thing he can't do on offense. Lanny is also a force to be wreckoned with on the defensive side putting up impressive numbers at CB with 5 ints averaging one a game, and a sack. Compared to previous seasons at QB, lanny is at his peak and he isn't letting anyone slow him down, not even in the hardest conference.
2. Killnijas123 (Snowhawks): Killnijas has come into this season in a dominate fashion. Along side teammate and MVP candidate Healable, Killnijas has grown a strong chemistry and it proves so with his 218+ receiving yards (doesn't include week 5) and 6+ TD receptions. When going into games, opponents are always watching out for Killnijas on defense knowing that if it's a 4th down and long or hail mary, the ball is most likely going to him. Like Lanny, Kill can do many more things on defense then just his main position, he also has a 33 yard passing TD on the season. Kill is also a force on defense. He has been a phenomenon breaking the int record in a game early on (5 vs the jackrabbits). If it weren't for his ints, Joston could have possibly pulled off the upset and left Snowhawks at 3-2 going into a slump similar to season 8. But he doesn't just have 5 ints from that one game. Kill has 8 ints so far this season only midway. If he can continue his success he is looking right at Treko's S8 INT record in a season of 13, and having a 10 game schedule helps that a lot.
3. Healable (Snowhawks): Now some of you might think Healable is at the top (which I would have agreed with you in S7), but this is why I have him at #3; Healable is still obviously a good player, but he hasn't had the same amount of success that Lanny and Kill have had so far. Don't get me wrong though, Heal is having an MVP performing season and could easily sneak his way up from Kill or Lanny starting to slack. Heal has the most passing yards of 1391+ and a great TD/INT ratio of 20:5 (does not include week 5 stats). When he isn't throwing, he is also a very mobile QB like Lanny rushing for 70+ yards and a TD this season (does not include week 5 stats). Another reason why I have Heal at #3 is because he is a force on offense, but not so much on defense like he was Season 7 (this man got snubbed so hard S7). That I know of, he had 1 int week 5 and none previous and no sacks recorded but nonetheless still a great lockdown cornerback which is why he deserves to be a nominee. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ *For the next few awards I'm not going to go so much in depth because the MVP is the biggest one. I'll just list of statistics for the position and my opinion on the players.
QBOTY:
1. LannyPooo (Spartans): 1410 Passing yards, 20 TD's thrown, 1 int thrown, and 129 scrambling yards. *see MVP description for explanation*
2. Healable (Snowhawks): 1319+ Passing yards, 20+ TD's thrown, 5+ (?) ints thrown, 70+ scrambling yards, and 1+ (?) TD's rushing. *see MVP description for explanation*
3. DarkEagle2014 (Ducks) 1238 Passing yards, 19 TD's thrown, 8 INTs thrown, and 106 scrambling yards. A lot of people would maybe put Shaun4905 here or 1Treyk here, but I think so far this season, Dark has played a much greater roll at QB and has done great. He has the ability to lead the ducks to a VB. He makes smart choices with the ball in a tough conference, and has mobility as well. Don't be surprised if he ends up sneaking up in these rankings if he starts to perform a little better on the interception side of the ball.
Honorable Mentions: 4. 1Treyk (Punishers), 5. Shaun4905 (Rams) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
OPOTY: (tough thing about these awards is a lot of people who are already listed in an award will be repeated in catagories such as mvp, opoty, dpoty, and others so I'm just going to list out names of people I've already talked about and stats no explanation needed just check the other award with an explanation in it)
1. Healable (Snowhawks): 1319+ Passing yards, 20+ TD's thrown, 5+ (?) ints thrown, 70+ scrambling yards, and 1+ (?) TD's rushing
2. LannyPooo (Spartans): 1410 Passing yards, 20 TD's thrown, 1 int thrown, and 129 scrambling yards
3. JoshBradyIV (Jackrabbits): 363+ receiving yards, 3+ TD receptions, 82 passing yards. This one is going to be a surprise to a lot of people and I think he could be interchanged with a number of people like fr00bk1ng, 1treyk, killnijas123, fracta, the list goes on. I tried to chose someone that truly is a carrier on offense and surprisingly, that's Josh. Josh has a QB who has more rushing yards in 5 games then most RB's can reach in an entire season so passes are hard to come by. Even though this isn't DPOTY, lets not forget to mention he also has 3+ ints proving he is having a breakout season. No joston doesn't have a lot of wins but when they do win it's because of this man at WR who is one of the only capable people on that team to catch the ball. It's easy to wrack in lots of receiving yards like sepsius, fracta, etc with great QB's but Josh has managed to do it with a product of the OFCA who is basically a RB under center.
Honorable Mentions: 4. fr00bk1ng (Bruisers), 5. Killnijas123 (Snowhawks) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
DPOTY:
1. Killnijas123 (Snowhawks): 8+ ints
2. YungJustin (Ducks): 7 sacks, 2 safeties, 2 swats. Yung has always been a great DE and I think this season, he has just kept doing what he does best. When you have put up 4 points at DE and 2 int's, it's a real game changer to have someone like that around.Having a large amount of sacks is one thing but being able to get swats and safeties ontop of that makes you DPOTY worthy.
3. Lannypooo (Spartans): 5 ints, 1 sack
Honorable Mentions: 4. CurryKeef1738 (Sunbirds), 99Wattage (Rams) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
RBOTY:
1. Fr00bK1ng (Bruisers): 205 Rushing yards, 5 Rushing TD's, 209 receiving yards, 3 receiving TD's. Easiest choice for this award hands down thus far. Fr00b has proven to be a game changer on the ground and in the passing game putting up the best stats against hard teams. There's nothing else to say about this guy, he is an all around great OFL RB.
2. DamionBurk (Ducks): 98 yards rushing, 2 rushing TD's, 101 receiving yards. There is a large gap in between Fr00b and the next few RB's but nonetheless Damion is a threat on both the ground and in the passing game which is worthy of being in the running for RBOTY. Unless fr00b just goes on a slump and Damion starts performing extremely well though, I don't see anyone taking over his spot at #1.
3. DjayBoy (Punishers): 57 yards rushing, 4 Rushing TD's, 108 receiving yards. Like I said, 8v8 seems to be the downfall of RB's in the OFL although some like fr00b and damion still prove to be game changers. Djay is still a decent RB to have around though for short yardage conversions and contributes in the passing game which is why I have him at #3.
Honorable Mentions: 4. FirstCrusader (Greats), 5. MossTrain (Raptors) --he's a WR but no one else really fit here that's worth mentioning. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
WROTY:
1. FractaAnima (Ducks): 596 receiving yards, 8 TD receptions. For all of the great WR's this season, Fracta seems to be the best option thus far. He is similar to the past seasons Jadis, Swegg, and Galaxysupernova wracking in large stats every game. He is the go-to-guy for QBOTY nominee Darkeagle and I can see why. Absolute stud on offense he can moss, hawk, and mix what else could you possibly need? If you ask why he is #1 here but not in OPOTY, the reason I picked Josh over him in OPOTY is because Josh is doing more with less which is OPOTY worthy.
2. JoshBradyIV (Sunbirds): 363+ receiving yards, 3+ TD receptions, 82 passing yards (see OPOTY status)
3. Sepsius (Punishers): 484 receiving yards, 5 TD receptions. Honestly I just put him in so that I'm immune from being suspended from the OFL. Nah jk not really. Sepsius is probably the best squeaking WR this OFL has to offer. He could easily flip flopped with JoshBrady for the #2 position, have your own opinion on it. He is having a breakout season with a good QB to get him the ball and I don't see him stopping. Good route running and receiver all around.
Honorable Mentions (a lot of great WR's so ima mention a few): 4. Patriots0017 (Raiders), 5. BaconFever (Snowhawks), 6. Killnijas123 (Snowhawks), 7. Hancock3 (Raiders), 8. Zignatious (FFC), 9. TheSliceOfLife (Spartans) -- could be higher but OMG BIAS!11!1 ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
CBOTY:
1. Killnijas123 (Snowhawks): 8 Interceptions
2. Lannypooo (Spartans): 5 Interceptions
3. CurryKeef1738 (Sunbirds): 4 Interceptions. Now it's hard to judge CBOTY because all you have to go off of is int's not passes allowed etc but until someone invents something that tracks that, this the only thing I can use. I also take schedule etc into account but other then that can only see by how they play and I can't watch every game. Back to Curry though, this man came out of nowhere playing stellar for sunbirds and he is a key piece to sunbirds to complete a darkhorse VB run.
Honorable Mentions: 4. Nmddd (Raiders), 5. WarEagle (Raiders), 6. JoshBradyIV (Jackrabbits) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
DEOTY: Let's see if 99wattage leaving rams gives someone else a chance to end his 99999 season streak of winning this award.
1. YungJustin (Ducks): 7 Sacks, 2 Safeties, 2 Swats. (See DPOTY)
2. 99Wattage (Punishers): 8+ Sacks, 1 swat. Now like I said, lets see if him leaving Rams changes anything, but I doubt it. Like usual, the two friendly rivals Yung and 99wattage will be racing for this award with a few DE's on the outside looking to dethrone them. Don't really need to justify 99wattage being in this spot, stats don't lie and we all already know 99wattage is an absolute beast.
3. Croco5007 (Spartans): 7 Sacks, 1 Safety, 1 Swat. So far, Croco could be interchangeable with 99wattage. Two great DE's performing at very high even levels, like Josh and Sepsius at WROTY, take your pick for who you think could be #2 and #3 it could easily go either way. Croco is one of the main reasons the Spartans are still undefeated with a clutch safety and 4th down sack late in the game vs the snowhawks.
Honorable Mentions: 4. Bobonaut (Huskies), 5. DeathsVictim (Jackrabbits), 6. Force16 (Snowhawks) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
MIP:
1. JoshBradyIV (Jackrabbits): Came off of a couple bad seasons but proved the doubters wrong thus far with stats such as 363+ receiving yards, 3+ TD receptions, 82 passing yards, and 3 INTs.
2. Ikios (Raptors): Honestly, I could be wrong here but I hadn't heard of Ikios until this season really. He is the new QB at the Raptors filling the shoes of Matthew previously which is a hard feat but he is doing great thus far for his (first?) season at QB. 747+ passing yards, 114+ rushing yards with 3+ rushing TD's, and a 7:2 TD/INT ratio proves to me that he is a future star QB in the making. Just give him 1 or 2 more seasons like Prowling and he'll be making some more noise in the OFL. Let's not forget he got the first KR TD of the season as well.
3. DjayBoy (Punishers): Gonna have to go with Djay on this pick. Last season he was probably living in a garbage can in the streets of new york but since treko is such a nice guy, he decided to give this hobo a shot at his dream of being a starting OFL RB. Thus far, he has done a great job with 57 yards rushing, 4 Rushing TD's, and 108 receiving yards. The reason I have him here instead of honorable mentions is because he was unheard of last season. The people in honorable mentions had a bigger name then this guy. As long as he keeps it up, he'll be staying in here.
Honorable Mentions: 4. Nmddd (Raiders), 5. Sepsius (Punishers) 6. Cr8bTree (Huskies) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
ROTY: Honestly I don't know many rookies in this league so help me out on this one and post rookies that you know of who have put up stats.
1. xxyumadxx (punishers): first pick in the ofl draft, and first rookie to be on all 16 teams in one season (jk more like 3 or 4) but still. He so far has the best rookie stats that I know of with 31 rushing yards and a rushing TD, 130 receiving yards, and 1 receiving TD which qualifies him for #1 roty thus far.
2. Casanovo (Rattlers): top 5 pick in the ofl draft he has been quiet in the past few weeks but within the first two weeks managed to bring in 112 receiving yards and 1 sack for the rattlers. Pretty solid for a rookie out of the ofca you don't see many producing numbers like that (even though they may seem small to some)
3. Conzstant (Spartans): 32nd pick in the OFL draft to FFC and then traded to Spartans, this guy hasn't been breaking out too much on the spartans but when he was on the firecats managed to bring in 68 receiving yards (T-86th in OFL) which for the small depth of rookies we have is fairly good.
Honorable mentions: ??? if you know any other rookies then let me know. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
COTY: (honestly I'm ignorant when it comes to this position but I'll make an attempt from what I've seen this season)
1. Ejected (Spartans): No this isn't because he is on my team and he is the only center I know. I truly believe Ejected has been the most promising center this season and is the reason Prowling only has 1 int. Good QB stats translate to good center stats it's no fluke. He has managed to handle the best DE's in the league such as yung, jj, advancedgame, force, and more.
2. DeathsVictim (Jackrabbits): Yeah he just started centering again with Rams and then Joston after his QBOTY campaign ended but nonetheless he has transferred very smoothly to the position. I think he got snubbed last season of the center award and was a huge addition to the huskies team that led them to the VB. We will see what he can do this season but ever since he has joined the jackrabbits, it seems he has bought more time for superkoopa to make smart decisions, don't expect anymore 5+ int performances by the jackrabbits with death at center.
3. OathKeeper13 (Punishers): because what isn't COTY list without oath?
Honorable Mentions: 5. Force13 (Snowhawks), 6. Fruuz (Ducks) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
KOTY:
1. Megajohn99 (Spartans): 1 for 3 on PAT's this man has everyone beat at kicker of the year come back next season kickers because this season is his season. (in all srsness tho idc about kickers but lanny got 2 game winning fg's SOOOOOO THAT IS THE REAL REASON WHY HE IS MVP CANDIDATE)
■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
HCOTY:
1. LannyPooo (Spartans): Record (5-0). I KNOW guys i have Lanny at a lot of spots and no it isn't because he is on the spartans. He is truly having a terrific season like treko s8 and healable s7 (MAN GOT SNUBBED IM TELLING YOU), and so on and so forth. It's his first season coaching and he turned what people thought was a dark horse roster into a "stacked" roster as some people say now that it's mid season and we are 5-0. He has made key trades to keep the spartans on top and so far is having the best success for a new s9 HC.
2. 1Treyk (Punishers): Record (5-0). Like Lanny, he's 5-0 with a roster that people considered to be darkhorse VB roster and not an actual stacked roster. Treko is one of the few coaches who actually coaches the team and makes players better. Yes he doesn't have the strongest SOS, but that doesn't matter, wins are wins and he has some pretty good ones (bruisers, sunbirds).
3. Healable (Snowhawks): Record (4-1) Despite missing the playoffs last season, he still managed to keep a lot of players and replace the ones who left which I give him props for. This season has taken a complete u turn from last season for the snowhawks so I'm guessing Heal finally figured things out at head coach. I see heal continuing his success at HC and possibly leading the snowhawks to a VB appearance.
Honorable Mentions: 4. DarkEagle2014 (Ducks) 5. DCForRapII (Sunbirds) ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Thanks for reading. I expect some on these lists to drop as others make names for themselves, after all, it is only mid season anything can happen from this point forward. Again remember I don't care who you think should go where, these are MY opinions, if you wanna disagree go ahead I'm not stopping you but it isn't gonna change my opinion. If you think I might have left out someone for honorable mentions that deserves it comment below but more then likely my list is set in stone until next week.
Any typos then LET ME KNOW I DID NOT PROOF READ.
