With a change of management comes a change of...well...everything. This guide should help clear up some of the changes that are being made, such as some of the roles changing, the new twitter account, power rankings collaborations, etc.
[PRESS F3 TO GO TO THE SECTION YOU WISH TO GO TO] 1. Roles 2. Power Rankings 3. Twitter 4. Guidlines
-1;Roles
Intern- The role you are in upon joining the group. You will sit here for a bit until either myself or the co-director decide you have the correct qualities for the position you wish to be.
Analyst- These guys handle most of the writing stuff. From stuff they can do themselves such as mock drafts, predictions, game analysis, to stuff the entire analyst staff, co-director, and director will work on together weekly, such as the power rankings. Requirements of this are simple; you must have a basic understanding of grammar, how to structure your sentences, and common sense. I won't be too nitpicky with the grammar and sentences part, as I understand not everyone is a good writer, but it must be somewhat legible. They should also keep the stats of each game they analyze.
Interviewer- I mean, pretty obvious. These are the guys and girls who approach coaches and players during practices, pregame workouts, half time, and the end of game to interview them about how they think their team will perform, performed, how it can adjust to coaching changes, qb changes, whatever. Qualifications are pretty low, you mostly just have to be active and have decent questions[a trial interview will be held with you interviewing me as if I was a coach in the superbowl during halftime, being down by 10].
Cameramen- They go into the game and record the plays for highlights and upload them onto YouTube. Pretty simple, although this roleset has the highest requirements - you have to be able to edit or know someone who can edit, be able to use ball cam properly, fly around invisible without running into players with the ball[DATARAVEN], not intercept the ball while flying, etc.
Livestreamer- Similar to the cameraman, however instead of recording games and editing them into highlights, livestreamers will record the game live and display it on twitch for people to view. Requirements are the same as the cameraman, although a good connection would be appreciated.
-2; Power Rankings Every week, the day after the last game of that week, the analysts and interviewers will collaborate together on power rankings, ranking the fourteen teams in terms of their play on the field. The analysts can make their own separate power rankings, but the collaboration one will be OFFICIAL. It is a collaboration in order to avoid bias and such.
-3; Twitter With the birth of the new season, the official =NFL= Media Twitter account has been created. It will be updated consistently with score by score updates, rule changes, games, general news, interviews, whatever. It will be run by myself and the co-director.
-4; Guidlines The Media is pretty lax, but there are still some guidelines that need to be set in place.
1. NO PERSONAL ATTACKS The last thing we want is to give the media, and worse, the league, a bad name. Personal attacks are prohibited. No, this does not mean stuff like ranking a team low on the power rankings and calling them bad, but stuff like going out of your way to ensure that people know you hate this person/team and why. Stuff like making up things that aren't real and such are also banned. 2. BE ACTIVE What was the media known for in Season 3? They were lit at first, and then they...died. At the beginning of the season there were power rankings and predictions and such, and towards the end of the season the only activity in the media was livestreamers and highlights, and even then highlights became less important as the season went on. I seek to change that. I understand if something comes up in real life or team events can hold you back, but I still want there to be some sort of activity. 3. AVOID BIAS I get it, I get it. Being biased is hard to avoid. If you're a player, you're coaches could get onto you about how you don't have faith in your team if you predict they lose. If you're a coach, it won't help getting your team motivated if your team is ranked lowest on the power rankings and their own coach predicted they lose. Just try to keep it to a minimal. 4. WORK TOGETHER Don't be afraid to work together, collaborate, whatever. Post stuff you are working on on the group wall. Working on a thread about the Ravens surprise success? Maybe ask an interviewer to interview one of their coaches or players, and then add it onto your thread. Collaboration is key.
