I'm currently working on a solo project which is known as "Brink of War: Rogue". This project will eventually become the first ever successful FPS campaign created on Roblox. Here's the description of the game:
"Brink of War: Rogue will take you behind the enemy lines as a rogue soldier who wants to uncover the truth in a battlefield of lies and secrets. For the first time ever, Brink of War: Rogue is the first singleplayer FPS campaign to be created on Roblox. Using TurboFusion's weapon functions, you are guaranteed to have an intense, action-packed experience in this first person shooter."
You'd think that creating an FPS campaign would be difficult, but I actually have a way to make everything simple. Now, this will not be an efficient campaign like you would see out of Call of Duty® or Battlefield™. Obviously this game will be ran on Lua scripts, and Lua just doesn't have the power to create that efficient of a campaign. That's why this campaign is going to be a simple build. The campaign is going to be story rich, meaning it's important for you to read everything that needs to be read. Yes, there's going to be a lot of reading, since I can't make AI's talk without spending hundreds and hundreds of Robux on audio files, and in the end they would sound kinda corny anyways. The list below will tell you about everything that'll be featured in the campaign, and things I hope to put in the campaign that I'll hopefully get to work.
[Friendly AI's] Friendly AI's are just basic character models that stand in some sort of pose. Sometimes AI's will have dialogs over their heads, so that you can interact with them. AI's help make the storyline more rich, especially the ones with dialogs. It's important for you to read the dialogs, since some of them tell you what you're supposed to do and help you.
[Enemy AI's] Enemy AI's, just like the friendly AI's, are just basic character models that stand in a pose. Unlike the friendly AI's, these AI's do not have dialogs and shoot at you if you are in range. Now, these AI's will not shoot you if you are behind a block, no matter how close you are to them, so this will be great for creating stealth missions.
[Vehicles] Usually the vehicles in the game aren't interactive and are there just for display. I've already put in three vehicles, which is the DPV, helicopter, and a car. The vehicles, as of the moment, are free models (Except The DPV). I plan on replacing them sometime in the future with vehicles I've created, I'm just in a hurry to get this done.
[Weapons] There are a total of 10 weapons created for the game. The weapons are ran off TurboFusion's scripts, but the physical design of the weapons are created 100% by me. The weapons included are: M4, Scar-L, MP5, QJY-88, L96, KSG, M9, and the G19. Now I also have created different variants of these weapons with different attachments.
[Level Designs] I try to keep level designs as simple as possible, but also try to add in enough detail so that the level has a good atmosphere. The levels are generally short, but having enemy AI's in the levels will make it so that you can't jump zoom through the levels as if it was nobody's business.
The game is nearing completion. The things I have left to do is listed below:
[] Replace free model vehicles with my own vehicles [] Eventually create a Main Menu GUI (For Now There's Just a Lobby Menu) [] Clear all unwanted strong joints [] Add in the helicopter (Have to Add it When Everything's Done Since it Keeps Breaking) [] Create gun givers [] Create other forum posts for the game
