To be honest, the Microsoft's C/C++ compiler is pretty terrible. They said that themselves. They're working to make it better, obviously, but it's definitely not the best.
Overall, you're probably better looking for certain features than saying "I want the best" because there really isn't a best; it's mostly just personal preference.

Probably G++.
But it really doesn't matter. |

| 99% of the time it doesn't matter, but from what I've heard if you have an Intel processor, Intel's C++ compiler can do some great optimizations. |

Microsoft's compiler has the greatest debugger known to man kind. |

| That's not what compilers are. Debuggers are debuggers, not compilers. |

| Well I have to agree with 7, it does have a very intelligent debugger. |

| No one is going to mention Code::Blocks? It's a great way to start off at least... And if you're gonna use VS then use the 2013 edition, it's the one that works best for me at least. |

i like 2012 ultimate, just because of the ability to build console apps, but then again you can do that in code::blocks, but obviously code::blocks lacks alot of features VS has because for one you have ot pay for it lol

"No one is going to mention Code::Blocks?"
No because that's not a compiler. |

| My mistake, you appear to be saying you can buy VS, which is correct. |

"No because that's not a compiler"
I believe you are correct, however, It comes with a compiler installed so it still compiles programs... |

Y'know since I've come back to Roblox to check out the forums, I've seen passive-aggressiveness in like, every thread. It's actually hilarious.
People are wrong on the internet, don't look back on the time you spent trying to correct them and regret not doing something else. |

| Nope, that would be GCC doing the compiling for you. You can even use Microsoft's Visual C++ compiler with it if you wanted to. It has an option for practically every single compiler. |

Brados I wasn't talking to you. But you're also wrong, the "visual output" is NOT part of the compiler.
7 was wrong because he said "Microsoft's compiler has the greatest debugger known to man kind." Compilers are not debuggers |

omg, i DIDNT SAY THAT, my initial question was what is the BEST COMPILER. i never said that VS was a compiler itself lol, i said VS had the best output and functionality including a good compiler.
