On the 29th of May 1453 Sultan Mehmed II prolonged his vision of extending the Ottoman kingdom into the glorious city of "Constantinople".
Long had the city endured casual blows to it's wealth, prestige, and invading western powers. The city was nothing more than a hollowed out shell of it's former self. This lead the way to it's eventual collapse.
Cannons bombarded the glorious walls that had kept the Eastern ROmans and their city safe for centuries, each piece of history and Roman legacy falling as the walls slowly disintegrated. With Constantinople's strategic location on the Bosporus, invading ships where not allowed to cross the chain that kept the enemies from crossing into the weaker northern wall along the sea.
This changed when Mehmed ordered his men to construct sea-board rafts that would help the ships cross the northern land barrier into the chain-area. When they finally crossed, everyone defending Constantinople knew this was the end.
It took 4-5 days to finally end the last morale the defenders had, this allowed the Turks to find their way into the city. This was in short because of the defenders leaving a gate open.
In defense, Constantine XI Dragases Palaiologos tore off his robes and charged at the enemy for the last time. Knowing this was his end, he was never seen again.
When the last swords clinged and the cannons stopped bombarding, the city fell silent, prayers and cries could be heard across the temples underlying the city. The glory and prestige that was once this great capital was lost. Mehmed allowed the plumage of the city for 9 days.
It soon became the capital of the Ottomans 7 days later. This was the end of the Roman legacy, and marked the end of the medieval period. The Eastern ROman empire and her legacy that her ancestors had given her was lost to time.

| Let me hinder your logic buddy. Roman should be capitalized because it's a noun. It resembles a culture or empire. |
