I can barely even remember mine, but I THINK it was a Compaq Presario 5170 with a Pentium II 350MHz and 128MB of RAM. I was so little that I barely remember anything about it, and I didn't even know that it was a Compaq until just recently when I discovered an old picture of it from 2001. After seeing that picture, I had a very vague memory of watching the Windows 98 boot screen from that very computer, which was insane given that I was only a year old at the time.
I remember using an older Pentium I computer a lot more during 2004-2009 at my grandma's house, but it was a generic computer, so finding the case for it and everything would be insanely hard. I've barely gotten close to finding anything that resembles it. |

Was an HP Pavilion of some sort. Came with Windows ME recovery disks so that may help track the model.

"could i take a pic of it" Why not. I'll be interested in it.
But yeah, about that generic computer. I have a ton more memories of it. Not sure if it was AT or ATX though, because I do remember the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" message which was for AT computers specifically. But I remember it being an ATX case.. And I don't know if it was a Pentium III, Pentium II, Pentium I, 486, or whatever it was. I'm just assuming that it used a Pentium I because they were common at the time. But I clearly remember the damn dial-up sound playing at full volume. I didn't care, though, I thought it was amazing that the internet was even a thing, as every 6 year old would be. |
