barely any rpg elements, feels like just an fps with a leveling system no skills, just a perk tree butchered dialogue system consisting of question-neutral-positive-negative little to no choice (3 of the 4 endings are the exact same with switched roles) that other ending feels underwhelming, didn't realize it even ended male voice actor sounds bored out of his mind voice actors at all looks like a cartoon, way too many colors for a game that is suppose to be depressing and dark. 3 and nv did this correctly. less quest than 3 and nv only a couple quests are good (silver shroud is the best out of the bunch) radiant fetch quests as an excuse for lack of content so much lore retconning i could go on. i have hours upon hours on fallout 4. just not as many hours as i had on 3 and nv. it's a good game. but not a good rpg or fallout game. imo, fallout nv remains the best in the series.

"imo, fallout nv remains the best in the series."
I've played New Vegas
it's quite boring, mostly because I don't like how the environment mostly just feels like sand and rocks with destroyed buildings
too much yellow and orange |

The lore retconning is what gets to me more than anything. I COUNTLESS notebooks filled with lore notes that I've taken over the past decade, and so much of it is completely irrelevant now, because Bethesda can't stick to it. Oh, Power Cores last 200 years without the slightest hint of power degradation? Nah, they deplete in a matter of minutes now.

got really excited for fallout 4 and ended up getting this massive bundle. kinda disappointing. has certain elements MUCH better than the older games but it also feels like it's missing quite a bit. probably my least played game. never actually played nv since it felt too dull and boring when i first started it. fallout 3 was awesome. |

@catboy it's agreeable that nv's enviorment did need more interesting things, but the story, choices, factions, endings and sticking to 1 and 2's preset lore is what makes it the best. i like 3 too but that was guilty of even more retconning than 4 to an extent. |

| imo, i wish you could be evil in fallout 4 and be able to kill everyone instead of certain people being invincible. you can't kill preston. :( |

@catboy
So? Being across the country from one another doesn't mean that lore has no restrictions on them. For instance, the fact that the Enclave had any business on the East Coast. They are a mainly West Coast faction. If we are counting Tactics as canon, then they are also Midwestern. But they had no reason to be in DC. |

oh yeah that's right, I forgot Chicago
but I would expect things to be different in the games storyline wise due to the location difference |

true that friend. i don't even mind that there is so much fighting, but it's just that the more 'unique' fighting areas are few and far between.
there are only a few interesting locations not affiliated with a quest - the last one that i went to that comes to mind was dunwich borers, that was a cool level.
i feel like towns have too small a presence in fo4. the only one which has a 'safe' area where you won't get attacked around it is diamond city, where the security is patrolling. instead of towns/trading posts which have quests and npc's you can talk to and stuff, you have a million bajillion unnamed hostile encampments where you kill everything with two bullets and don't get any loot. that sucks
doing all the side quests and finding the magazines and bobbleheads (using the wiki) is a great pleasure... but playing the game by just exploring stinks as you will spend all of your time at those damn unnamed hostile encampments
