What this amendment does is stop the President from taking over the Senate with putting bad senators and bias ones like we have today. They do this to gain control, remove their impeachment and all sorts of things. These Senators appointed most of the time have no experience and are merely there to aye whatever the President wants.
Making them do special elections fixes that all up, the house has been special elections for missing seats all the time and it has worked. |

I firmly believe it should be the power of the people to elect who represents them, not some guy the President picks to do his bidding for him.

| Again congress is trying to limit the president's power. Nothing more to say. |

Lumidas, I know your smart enough to realize the inconsistency of a President appointing people to a job like Congress, and then expecting them to be non-bias in decisions involving the President.
I know your not that stupid.

| Breaches checks and balances. President would have next to no checks (aside from vetoes) on the legislative branch. |

| It's truly hilarious that so few understand something as simple as checks and balances. Appointing senators is a check on the power of Congress. |
