Why teach us about history, when you could be teaching us how to get well paying jobs?

"People don't want to hire morons"
Whenever their moronic or not, schools should be teaching us how to manage money better.

If you are a American, there's no point changing your mindset however, education is highly important and without it you are incredibly stupid and misinformed. Learning history is key if you want to become a politician or any meaningful job. Who would you hire -Highly Educated in History Maths Science -Not Educated but can handle money a little better
Employers would chose the educated. |

School is a job simulator.
They want you to get used to doing something for probably the rest of your life.
They need ALOT of filler. |

| School is a good concept, but I've never heard of a place that uses said concept in a useful way. |

Because grammar is more important than you may think. I don't correct people online unless I'm in a flame war, but despite keeping my cringes to myself, they are cringes nonetheless.
Some of my top grammar pet peeves in no specific order:
-Incorrect usage of "your" and "you're." -Incorrect usage of "effect" and "affect." -no capitalization or punctuation at all although saying i instead of i is fine by me same with no period at the end of a chat text or onesentence post -Punctuation in, the, wrong spots, although nearly meaningless bothers me down to my soul. -Lack of hyphens (*cough cough* OP *cough cough* [sorry for correcting you]). -When People Think It's Cool To Do This Sht
That's just one reason. Please, this is almost meaningless when compared to everything else you're taught in school; do you really think they're teaching you what they do just because they feel like it? Sometimes, some things you will never use in life are taught to you just so you're not stupid. I'm not saying you're stupid, but your grammar... blegh. Don't take it personally. Just as the Catholic saying goes "Love the sinner, hate the sin;" I love the person but hate their grammar. The same can be said about almost everybody else on OT. |

WAIT! I almost forgot these:
-When people think apostrophe's make thing's plural. -Incorrect usage of "Its" and "It's." -Incorrect usage of "Their," "There," and "They're." |

A school is an institution designed for the teaching of students (or "pupils") under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory.[citation needed] In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. The names for these schools vary by country (discussed in the Regional section below) but generally include primary school for young children and secondary school for teenagers who have completed primary education. An institution where higher education is taught, is commonly called a university college or university.

"1st of all: OP said history, not English."
History is more important than English. I just used English as an example because people often take it as their most meaningless required subject in school. Seriously, some kids need to be taught "How to speak English I-IV" instead of "English I-IV." It's disgustingly horrible how many native speakers of English can't speak their own language. I'm not talking about grammar; it goes way far beyond that. |

In all seriousness, we aren't required to use proper grammar. It's the internet, not school, let us be care free for a while ffs.
Find something better to do than correct someone's grammar.
Also, if you hate incorrect grammar, have fun with this: http://undertale.wikia.com/wiki/Temmie
(Read the second paragraph. You'll see why you'll hate them.)
