die for another country? do you not believe that everyone is equal? why would you just die for your country and not any other one? is this not a bit of inequality? if you're american, why does the united states deserve a hero more than france? more than syria? more than venezuela? more than china? more than uzbekistan? dont they all deserve heroes, fighters, support, just as much as your country? are you saying that usa is somehow intrinsically a better place to die for than all the other countries in the world? dont tell me you cant see some belief in inequality there |

wow, amazing post
also this is sort of like nationalism, although it's not everyone's motif for joining U.S. army |

| its patriotism, a sort of nationalism that involves some hidden belief that your country deserves your support more than any other country |

To answer the first question, no, I wouldn't die for my country. My country is garbage and believing you'll have more of a rememberence by your "people" of the country just because you participated in the war and died in it is ridiculous. Whatever of a family you had, unless you did something important, they're the only ones who care.
Sure, people will SAY they love the soldiers and all of that hanky panky, but it's just as fake when people say they care about the mother when they call themselves "pro-lifers". Which would probably be the best way to describe the situation: fake and pretty pointless in matters of thinking you'd create some sort of justice alone.
I say "you" indirectly.
Nah, they don't care about other countries though, it's all about their own. That's what patriotism is, mostly.
Warning: Dates in calendar are closer then they appear. |

yup goshidoll agreed so much why would i die for any country? i would die for something i believe in, like equality, like justice, not for my country i would rather die fighting something like lSlS in the name of justice rather than in the name of any country it just makes more sense |

| I don't support the military but here's my opinion. People die for their country because they believe it is the most just nation, or because they have to due to being forced to or needing to make money. From the soldiers perspective, they see it as their duty. |

"People die for their country because they believe it is the most just nation"
that's pretty much xenophobic right there so because theyre born in a country they believe it to be the most just? wait wait a minute why would you rather fight for a country that is more just than one that is less just? don't people who are oppressed in unjust countries need help? or are they less important just because you weren't born there? if i had to fight for any country based on how just i think it is, i probably wouldn't be fighting for canada which is my own |

| I would never die for my nation, I don't support the military. I am telling you their perspective. They are brainwashed fools who kill others due to the geographic location they were born in. |
