| Democratic Socialism maintains our constitutional integrity while working towards evening the playing field for people on opposite ends of the economic spectrum, furthering the "anyone can succeed" rhetoric behind our country's most attractive feature, 'the American dream'. |

First it was Communism. Then they started calling it "liberalism" and "socialism." It's all the same thing. Kick those commies off the streets.

the thing i have against dem socialism is that it's hard for even the candidates who describe themselves as that ideology to explain what it is.
it's just sketchy to me and it has a lot of risky stuff in it.
i'd love to have free college and a nice 15$ wage to start my working life off with, that'd be fantastic. but in our nation as it is there are several risks with that to unemployment, general cost of living/price of goods, etc.
and government controlling the private sector has almost never worked. when the private sector aka "dirty wallstreet 1%" is allowed to work their way the economy typically thrives like it did when america was lifted out of the great depression.
(no it wasnt fdr that did that, once congress repealed some of his acts companies were able to export and produce more. ww2 helped though) |

| but hey maybe one day when we can trust our government to make the right decisions, then maybe we can feel comfortable with having them control our economy more. but personally i'm feeling capitalism at our nation's current state. |

Wall Street was more regulated during the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s than it is right now. WWII was truly the only real catalyst of the U.S. 1940s economic upturn.
At the moment Wall Street is about as regulated as it was during the 1920s. The Glass - Steagall act needs to be put back into effect. |

@bumper no it wasn't.
It was socialism/communism for some people. For others like Stalin it was a g00d old dictatorship because Stalin wasn't dumb enough to understand that left wing doesn't work. |
