"3x + 4y divided by 2 for x = 7 and y = 10"
(3x + 4y)/2
(3(7) + 4(10))/2
(21 + 40)/2
61/2 = 30,5
Why you should trust me?
Because it's a mathematic rule that you have to divide by all "links" in the expression, and addition separates a "link", whereas multiplication doesn't.
But the way that you expressed the equation is that only 4y should be divided by 2, so you need to make sure that you clarify that when asking questions on C&G.
If it is so, then
3x + 4y/2 = 21 + 40/2 = 41 |

Plug in x and y first
so 3(7)+4(10)=61
Then you do 61 divided by 2 which is a fraction which is just 61/2 |

3x + 4y divided by 2 for x = 7 and y = 10
3x+4y ^^ 2
3[7]+4[10] - 2
21+40 - 2
21+20 = 41 |
