| I wish they could actually teach you things that would help you get a job that you want, or useful life skills. I have a few good classes but other than that the rest seem almost completely useless. Anyone else have a school like this? |

most teenagers say this at least once lol
language classes are useful math is more than just skills, it also exercises areas of your brain good literature and spelling/grammar is quite important science knowledge combats ignorance on ways of the world history/geography is basic knowledge you should know
But yeah, I agree, something like a life skills class would be cool to have |

you may hate school now but having the opportunity to learn cool stuff like science and history is just nice. before public schools became the norm, you had to go to college to learn it- and even then it likely would have had a focus on something boring like law or religion.
it is what makes the difference between having the US being 90% farmers and 1% farmers. you need to think about where you and your parents would be if no one learned how to do cool stuff they learn in school every class is useful in some way

| What were calculators invented for? Doing math. Oh wait, but you hafto learn how to divide fractions in your head to! What! When am I ever going to hafto just answer a bunch of questions about dividing fractions on the spot? We have the internet, phones, calculators. Unless were on a math game show I don't see much need for doing certain math questions in your head. |

| I learned a lot in English, and a lot in Math. In my math class i have noticed that we are learning more pointless things. Same with science, science taught me some good stuff, so did Social Studies. But then there's the other classes... |

school is academic, it's where you become book smart everything else is for you to learn, thus it's called street smarts dude, you can't just depend on the system to conveniently learn you everything |

if your hypothetically existing sister drowns, are you also going to blame the school for not teaching her how to swim? because that's actually a various skill that's definitely recommended to master in life
are you also going to blame school for not teaching you how to cook? - ah, wait. disregard this one, a lot of schools actually do |

"you can't just depend on the system to conveniently learn you everything"
I don't, it's just that a lot of stuff is a waste of time. Not only for us but for the people funding the school. They pay money for teachers to teach us useless stuff. Not all of it is useless, but a some of it is. |
