MAJOR GENERAL [AQUILA ANGAR]
COMMANDER OF THE 47th [INFANTRY] DIVISION
CURRENT AGE [44]
[TRAITS: GUERRILLA MASTER,THE HERO, MASTER OF SIEGES]
TRAINED IN CHURA MILITARY ACADEMY
PERSONAL BELONGINGS GRANTED BY THE MINISTER OF THE ARMY [A PHOTOGRAPH OF A YOUNG AND PRETTY GIRL, A LIGHTER ENGRAVED WITH HIS NAME, A SMALL BOX OF PREMIUM CIGARS, A JOURNAL, A PEN, A SILVER ANALOG WRISTWATCH]
APPEARANCE: Aquila is a man with tanned skin standing at 5'10. His brown hair is shaved as well as his beard to comply with military regulations, though you can see some stubble starting to grow. His eyes are a muddied brown color, and his face is riddled with scars from his time serving in the military. He wears the standard uniform for Major Generals, along with a few badges.

As you move back into your seat with your arms dangling in the air beside them. You sigh in relief that you aren't going to be serving in the front lines but instead in your office or the divisions HQ. You tell yourself that your incharge in leading a division, with this. You think you'll make the war end sooner and you can return to your everyday life. You close your eyes and think why this war was started and how much you opposed it but you are interrupted by a chair being slid back, loudly then then you look up. You see a a officer about to take a seat in front of you, upon further inspection of the officer. The officer is indeed a female and you glance at her collar to see her rank, her rank is a colonel. She doesn't acknowledge you until she sits down and notices that you are glaring at her. She is the first one to speak, "Sorry sir, you seemed to be thinking about something. I didn't want to disturb you, so I tried to pull the chair and sit in front of you. But apparently that didn't work. Anyways I'm Colonel Alison another replacement for one of the chief of staff in the 47th Infantry division." She salutes to you across the coffee table.

"Good to meet you," I say, holding up my hand in greeting, though not returning the salute. I never was one for such professional-seeming pleasantries. I remove a cigar from its box and place it between my lips, looking up at Alison and holding out the cigars, offering one to her.

You see the Colonel dumbfounded for a moment, then she gets her act together again. "Well that's one way for formal introductions." The Colonel chuckles as she reaches for the cigar you offered her. "Thanks for the cigar." She says as she places it in her mouth and lights it. She takes a big inhale then she exhales, "So, since your not keen on the professionalism, what's your name?" She asks enjoying the cigar you offered her.

"Aquila," I say, lighting the cigar between my lips. I was reminded of the time I spent at home in the backyard, enjoying the sun and the smoke, no matter how unhealthy it was for me. The sooner I could end this war, the sooner I could get back home to the loving and kind girl that was still, hopefully, waiting for me there.
"I hope you didn't drop by for small talk," I say, pulling the cigar away from my lips and exhaling, "I can't say I'd be a very interesting conversation partner."

The Colonel chuckles at your remark but she puts on a serious face. "Well alright, here comes the serious talk. The 47th Infantry division just single handily defended Hill 551 which if you don't already know dubbed "Meat Grinder Hill." The letter that you and I received came days before the hill was attacked, the division took I mean took HEAVY casualties in the defence of the hill. As we speak they're still counting the death toll on how many men and woman died in the defence of the hill. It wasn't some small engagement but a full out offensive, as rumour has it. I'm suspecting that the divisions morale dropped to Davis Doors locker, I hope we can return their morale before another attack comes. Reinforcements are already there so we shouldn't worry about enemy attacks. How do you think we should do with the division? And get there morale back up to the fullest?"

I inhaled and exhaled more smoke from my cigar, scratching my chin in thought. There's some time before the next attack if Alison is right. The division suffered heavy casualties, yes, but it was a full out offensive. The enemy gave everything they had to try to attack the hill, and they must've lost more soldiers than we have. They're in a worse-off spot, and a counter-attack may be just what we need. There have to be some soldiers aching for revenge. I closed my eyes for a moment to think, before opening them again.
"Do we know where the enemy encampment closest to Meat Grinder Hill is?" I ask.

"We have a few suggested areas where the enemy encampment might be or the HQ if your talking about that." Alison pulls out a map slides it towards you, gets out of her chair and opens the map. "Suggested enemy encampments might be here, here, or here." The positions she just pointed are relatively same in distances between the hill and them and it was oblivious places to put a encampment but it could be a trap if the enemy (you) would counter attack.

[boy i surely need to draw a map]

"Do we have any scouts we could send out to gather intel?" I ask. If I were to launch a counter-attack, I needed to know for sure where the enemy is. No use bumbling around aimlessly.

"When were on the train, I could hop by the radio train car to send a few scouting parties for you." The Colonel replies as she is still standing beside you still eyeing the map.

Train? I don't think I was told anything about a train. Well, it was probably to take me closer to the place where men become corpses, colloquially called a battlefield.
"That sounds good," I say, "when does the train depart?"

"In about 30 minutes, if you want we could wait in the train." She says as she points to the train platform where the 47th Infantry division will go.

Waiting in the train was the last thing I wanted to do. If the 47th Division was going in there, it'd probably be packed and crowded. I remembered a time where I had no fear, no hatred towards crowds. In fact, I felt safer in them. That was, of course, before I was brought into this damn war, before I realized that crowds of people were the perfect targets for enemy mortar fire.
"You can go on ahead, I'll be there soon," I say, hoping I don't come off as a misanthrope.

The Colonel nods as she packs up her stuff, then she leaves you to get your place in the train ready for you.

Leaving you to your thoughts.

I sigh and look down at my watch to check the time. Afterwards, I leaned back in my chair and enjoyed the remainder of my cigar. Once roughly 25 minutes had passed, I packed up my things and put out my cigar, shortly before making my way to the train.

[I'm gone tomorrow and the entirety of the weekend, I'll resume on Monday.]

When you reach the train you are surprised, the Colonel is standing right outside the train car waiting for you. When you reach to a suitable conversation distance, "Welcome to your car on rails sir." She gestures to the stairs that lead to the train car door, once your inside you are met with a surprise. It isn't crowded from your past thoughts but a nice, diner car. (something like this, gy azo. co m /65 1eb93 b9dc 400 d4 25c e9f, eecaa5fd6d) Moments after, the Colonel pulls a seat for you gesturing you to sit.

(Alright.)

"Thank you," I say, nodding as I sat down in the chair. This was nice enough, I suppose. The lack of people left me at ease, for the most part. There was, of course, still a chance of the train being bombed or attacked in some other way by the enemy. Maybe it's best not to thank about that though.
"I take it you'll be here to keep me company during the trip?" I ask.

[Eyyy Im back! Fyi theres no aircraft (Yet) in this RP, you could say its kinda Post-WWIish (Not following humanities timeline) with technologies from early WWII. The tech will improve as time goes on so no worries about that!]

"Indeed sir, how else I'll get to the 47th?" The Colonel lets out a small chuckle as she takes a seat in front of you. Briefly after she reaches for the middle of the table and grabs two cups and the boiler (I dunno, its like the pitcher that boils water an stuff), she takes a tea packet and puts it in the cup. Its probably her own cup then she asks you, "Would you like coffee or tea sir?".

(Welcome back! The water-boiling pitcher is called a kettle.)

"Tea please, with milk if we have it," I say. I could never get used to the bitter taste of plain black tea, and I never really liked coffee that much.

[Sorry for the wait, been dealing with big personal problems.]

The Colonel nods as she begins to pour the tea into the cup, once she is done he puts the kettle back where it belongs then takes another kettle from the table (which is right beside the kettle 1) then she starts pouring it into your cup. You see that its contents are white, drawing more into the question, "I hope your fine with warm milk, and don't worry, I made the milk myself while you were waiting." She nods towards you as she finishes pouring the steamed (or warm? not sure) milk into your cup, then she does the same thing with the previous kettle. Once she is done, she starts to slide the cup down towards you.

(Sorry to hear that, hope you manage to pull through.)

"Thank you Alison," I say, taking the cup and sipping from it, "do you know how long the trip's going to take?"

I sigh. I hated long trips with nothing to do. They always made me feel anxious. If I didn't do anything, something would be done to me. And that something would probably be bad.
"Any ideas on how to spend those 21 hours?" I ask.

"Sleep, eat, read, write a entry in your journal, plan things when we officially arrive to the 47th I guess." The Colonel shrugs.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm even here. One moment I have nothing to do, and the next I'm trying to do absolutely everything in an attempt to not get shot to death by rude people. I take a sip from my tea.
"Why are you in this war?" I ask Alison. There wasn't much else for me to do besides try to make conversation.
