I start all coding languages by repetitively smashing my face into the keyboard, always gets me through the basics.

"dont use visualstudio use eclipse" No wonder why you can't program, you can't even do the basic first step of choosing a good IDE.

"use nano"
Nonsensical statement. Emacs is highly superior to either vim or GNU nano. |

"it's called preference"
Yes, I would have to agree.
Truly, it is repulsive that such horrid utility tools would be preferred over a superior, official editor as Emacs. |

I use Sublime and g++ for most of my stuff, but for WinAPI or OpenGL I use Visual Studio.
Also, Emacs is horrid. |

I tried to write some inline assembly with the G++ and it was some of the worst stuff ever. The VS C++ compiler does inline assembly much better. I haven't written that much C++ code but this is the main difference between the compilers to me. Also the intel compiler will optimize a little better for intel CPUs.
In all likelihood you probably don't actually need to know C++ and you probably aren't ready for that jump anyway. I learned other languages in between Lua and C++ so it was a less overwhelming progression, but you can do what you want. |

No need to be so vile, cntkillme.
Just pick a good text editor and a compiler and find a good book. |
