I once hyper-extended my thumb during the middle of a baseball game. fun stuff.
Usually the part gets swollen and painful for about 1-1+1/2 weeks than goes down again. Not worth going to the doctors over. |

| Yes, you should see a doctor. Schedule an appointment with an orthopedic doctor, your pediatrician, or if it's really bad, go to the ER. |

| i was playing indoor soccer and someone kicked my foot when i went to move and so basically when he kicked my foot it straightened my leg and i pushed off with my other leg and then all the force was put into my straightened leg so im pretty sure i hyper extended it but im not totally sure since i haven't seen a doctor. |

ok tell your parents to schedule an appointment i'm a slight anatomy/physiology nerd (i don't give a crap about bone names though, those are dumb.)
Anyway, you may have torn a ligament. See a doctor.
General rule of thumb for leg injuries: if you can't use it, you can't ignore it. |

| ice it, elevate it, don't try to walk on it, and if you have a knee brace, definitely use it |

but really though if you didn't do it already, tell your parents that you needa see a doctor for your knee
if you can't get an appointment scheduled within a week (maybe two) i'd highly consider going to the ER simply because it'd be easier on you
(note that going to the ER isn't always because of trauma stuff - my mom offered to take me to the ER when I fractured my wrist, my brother went there when he broke his finger, and people go there all the time for things that simply require sooner attention than what they can get from a doctor's appointment) |
