Undertale and so many other games have broken believe that a game needs good graphics to be fun.

| I guess a lot of children think that pong is the worst video game ever. Because of its look. |

Some games need good graphics to be a good game.
For example, imagine playing Call of Duty with 8 bit sprites.
Undertale, on the other hand, is an RPG, so it is more dependent on character dialog and battling. This is why there are many older RPGS (Secret of Mana, Earthbound, Final Fantasy, etc) but not as many old First Person Shooters. Improvements in graphics have allowed for the FPS genre to explode. |

| Except it wouldn't. The game would be basically unplayable. Call of Duty in 8 bit is extremely ambitious considering it would not have nearly as many capabilities without its current graphics. |

I understand that graphics don't make a game, but let's give credit where credit is due. Some games are complimented by their terrific graphics, as they add to the experience for the player.
For a lot of games, these graphics aren't important at all. But for some, graphics are necessary in order to maximize a game's potential. |

8/16/32 bit games aren't "bad graphics". Bad graphics are things like the attempts at 3D games on the PS1 or Brianna Wu's game.

Yes, I agree. I was stating that ambitious games such as Call of Duty would be awful to play on low graphics due to their low possibilities without good graphics.
There are still terrific and amazing games with low graphics because they are less dependent on them. |

As long as the game's graphics allow you to make out what's going on so that you can play, they're good. Crysis 3 is an example because they graphics are amazing and there's a ton of detail, Papers Please is an example because the pixel art actually adds to the gameplay, and Thomas is Alone is an example because the graphics are simple but there is still a very deep game. And then there's, oh I don't know, Sonic 2007.

CS:GO came out in 2012 and its engine is based on Half Life 2 The graphics are something some people consider "Bad" But the game still has 10000's of people playing I think if a game focuses on the gameplay that's great as long as the graphics are good/alright
TF2/CS:GO Fanboy MAIN AWPER ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) |

Morrowind was made in 2002.
There is still people playing it, I try to play it but the quests I get easily lost on just like half life.
You search for 4 hours only to figure out that the place your looking for is a floating rock. |
