How should we go as a human race?
Should we unify as a human race world government, should we split up into groups of nation, colonizing for their nation?

| Read Ender's Game. It's quite an interesting commentary on this very topic. |

All of the different nations could work together in such a project if it wasn't for the Marxist elites trying to destroy our world.

English is extremely hard language if you weren't born in a situation where the majority of the population speaks English.
If we were to unify, we need to create either a translator, or create an entire new language that is easier to use and learn, but not remove the common languages of today.

We have attempted to communicate with extra terrestrials in the past through methods of sending out sound waves.

@lambo
Yeah, I really liked the first one. Maybe I'll get into the others eventually. I thought it was very interesting how the world leaders decided to wage war against the aliens rather than attempt diplomacy first. |

In the International Space Station, they speak both Russian and English. English may be a difficult language to learn, however the people who become astronauts have to be smart, so they will invest enough effort into learning English to be fluent communicators.

"sound waves"
Well, no wonder we haven't made contact! Sound doesn't travel through space. |

We will eventually be at the point where our cultures are all aligned enough to the point where there is no longer a need for separate countries. But now is certainly not that time. Many countries aren't even able to get online yet, which is a major contribution to world unification.

| World unification doesn't require everyone to share the same culture, but rather to accept all cultures and coexist among them. People will always hold different values and beliefs, so we must accept this and work towards coming towards important agreements regarding issues. |

By same culture I mean how America is same culture as 1st world Europe. As in, a very broad version of culture.
And only when the vast majority of the world is in favor of this will it ever be done. The only way for this to happen right is for all the world leaders to agree on it, which will not happen until the need for separate governments is removed. Which is starting to happen between the first world countries due to their people no longer caring about what nationality they are and border hopping constantly just to see the world. Europeans talking to Americans online and befriending them. Taking interest in each other's life styles. This is all a good start for world unification which to me is the only good way to expand as a race.

The countries still struggling, their people starving or just trying to survive; those are the countries that are holding it back. We must help them evolve.

ehh i expect us to find extraterrestrial bacteria, chance of alien life forms is low because they would have probably advanced passed our understanding of science.

If there were a living species older than our own, then they probably would have found us by now. |

that's true adam.
though the only way to travel through space would be by folding it, because can't really go faster than light, unless you can solve the problem of inertia getting in the way which would cause us to die and the space ship to be unable to handle the speed.

it's always good to unify but that will never happen
never ever it's very unrealistic to think that it's actually possible for that to happen
there's basically a cold war across the world right now it'd be the space race all over again, too

people care more about their own goals than helping someone on the side, unification is really unrealistic, if it happened, great.

that's a good point, inertia man (sorry I didn't look at your username)
unless we had some darn fine skills (i.e., extreme g-force protection suits, ridiculously strong bonding, etc.) we'd probably have to stop the light speed travel way before destination so that it could slow down |
