(*NOTE: I'm not expecting this to go to far, as the few times I've posted on this forum, I tend to get a lot of dissent. However, if this picks up, I'll do my best to keep up with it and keep it interesting. Now, onto the story.*)
(*NOTE: Prepare for a lot of reading*)
The Academy of Fein. One of five premier schools for learning the arcane arts, more commonly known as magic or witchcraft. The Academy of Fein is located in, as the name suggests, Fein, a large, rural area with several small towns dotting throughout it, with one single medium sized city located far from the school. The other four schools are in separate areas of the world, all giving education to people of many ages and strengths in how to use their abilities.
The Academy's main facilities are all constructed using Gothic architectural designs, the large, extravagant building providing both room for learning, and an image of how the school sees itself as high standard, as it should. The Academy of Fein begins accepting students at the age of ten, and the oldest student is currently two hundred and three. To be accepted, the school must reach out to you and give a formal invitation. That being said, the amount of people with magical potential is larger than many would think.
Regarding the Academy student base, there are in fact tiers of training, from the lowest being Initiate, to the highest so far being Rift Delver. The ranking is as follows below:
Initiate Beginner Prospect Trainee Levels 1-3
Apprentice (At this stage, you will be privately tutored by a Master tier, and put into classes with no more than nine other Apprentice level students)
Pupil (Basically a second level to "Apprentice", Pupil tier students are now in classes with only three other Pupil level students.)
Graduate (Officially passing from under the Master's tutelage, a Graduate could leave the school with certification that they passed the base tiers. However, "graduation" is merely one route to take.)
Researcher (Passing up on "graduation", this tier is the next step. Researcher tier "students" take the time to learn and develop their own, more complex theories and spells. Researcher can take some time to pass, but if successful, you'll most likely gain quite some attention throughout the Academy, as well as respect.)
Professor (These are the few who passed the Researcher phase with a high understanding of complex areas of magic, or those who created their own high end theories. They help teach those at Pupil level and lower.)
Master (Masters are some of the most respected men and women in the Academy of Fein. Having become experts in either one field, or many fields of the arcane ways, these talented few are among the elite, the few sent out to teach Apprentices through practical means at the Academy grounds, and in the world itself. Becoming one is immensely challenging.)
Diviner (Though perhaps not as powerful in the more physical magics as Masters are, those classed as Diviners are arguably far more important. Able to divine events in the past, present, and future through magic, these are the few typically responsible for finding potential candidates for the Academy, and for helping predict upcoming trouble for the Academy, helping those there to prepare.)
Rift Lurkers (The most difficult, and dangerous, tier. The Rift Lurkers are a select few that have mastered practically all known forms of the arcane arts, and are the ones to delve into the Rift, the supposed source of magical power, in order to learn more. Some only venture once, returning with their own unique gift, while others go in many times in an attempt to find the area of strongest power in the Rift. This tier is near impossible to reach, though can be done with years of work.)
Now that you know a bit about the tiers, here are the classes of magic you can learn.
Destruction (The most physical form of magic, destruction is based around using raw power to demolish obstacles, living or not, in your path. Some do this using it in the form of elements, such as fire or lightning, while others unleash it in pure blasts of energy. Dangerous to master, but useful.)
Illusion and Alteration (These two often go hand in hand. Based on changing how things are perceived and actually altering your surroundings to how you wish them to be. This is one of the most difficult forms of magic, due to it often being limited by close-minded wielders. The more thoughtful, imaginative, and creative you are, the better you'll be with this form.)
Healing (A simple, yet important art. Those who learn the healing arts wish to help rather than hurt, often curing those of serious diseases and plagues. Easy for those that are kind at heart to master, yet a very crucial art indeed.)
These are the basic classes. As you advance your character, you can delve deeper into each one to become more specific in a certain area. The possibilities are almost unlimited. Keep in mind though, that you should keep you abilities relative to your tier level.
There are several places throughout the Academy you can go to.
The Hall of Durn (One of the original buildings of the campus, this is the entry way and main meeting area for students and teachers alike at the Academy. It is easily at least twice the size of a large, Gothic Cathedral.)
The Facilities (Due to how the learning structure is built, no class has a particular classroom. Instead, the Professor or Master will inform students where to meet through magical methods. Students could one day be in the Hall of Durn, the next in the grounds.)
The Dormitories (There are eight of these buildings. Four for each gender, one for each age range. One for the young, one for the teen to young adult, one for the middle aged, and one for the elderly.)
The Grounds (A large open area in the center of the campus, this area is larger than the Hall of Durn. Due to barriers put up long ago, the only precipitation to enter the Grounds is snow, unless otherwise called down by a Professor or higher in demonstration. This is a favorite area for students to socialize.)
The Dueling Rings (There are eight of these in the campus, evenly surrounding the Grounds. These are used typically by students learning the Destruction arts, though also the Illusion and Alteration. Wounds are typically handled by those learning the Healing arts. Injuries and even deaths do occur, but if one is to kill purposefully, they will be expelled from the Academy of Durn.)
More areas may come later.
Rules:
Do not meta-game, godmod, or any of those basics. You will be excluded from RP, and it just ruins it for others.
Relationships are fine. Obviously they must stay appropriate for Roblox, but it's unreasonable to think that no one will ever date or possibly even marry (for adult stage characters) in the roleplay.
Give others the chance to fight back if engaged in a duel. Be realistic as well if attacked. (Note: You need permission to seriously injure someone. For example, you can't just torch someone's arm into a crisp. You'd need to ask if you're allowed to seriously wound them.)
Be realistic on your skill level. If you're a young sorcerer, chances are you're not going to be using Master tier magic. Remember that.
Conflict between characters is fine, but be respectful for the most part.
*For reference: Time period is set in the Renaissance period*
~Backstory/CS~
You're potential in magic was discovered later than most. You're a young person, really no more than a kid, but it's been noticed that you have a gift. The ability to use the arcane arts. Now the Academy of Fein, a prestigious magic school, has invited you to learn and hone your skills with them. You had left home, your family, and your old life, and started the journey quickly. Now arriving at the school, the Headmaster welcomes you personally. He brings you to your fellow students, and gets you to introduce yourself, as he has to leave. You turn to the curious and expectant face that are all wondering.... Who are you?
~CS~
Name:
Age: (12-20)
Gender:
Physical traits: (Must be descriptive. Don't just give base stuff. Put it all. Height, body size, eye color, hair color, etc etc.)
Personality traits: (Be realistic here. If you're a loner, you're not going to be popular too, like a lot of people seem to think. Just...make sense.)
Bio: (A must. You did have a life before coming to the Academy. Don't try to go super dramatic. You're not that old, and you didn't blow anything up. No one has that much raw power starting out. Must be at least a paragraph.)
Main focus of study: (One of the three main classes of magic.)
Other: (Other items you may have of significance. Maybe some type of pet, as long as it's not too large. A somewhat big dog is about the limit.)
Well, there you have it. If interested, you know what to do. |

~CS~
Name: Nucca Church
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Physical traits: Body - Around 5'5" and roughly 135 lbs. She has pale skin, freckled and tanned by time in the sun. She has softer shoulders and lanky arms with small wrists and large hands. Her legs are slightly too long for her body and hold a bit of the extra weight (chubs)... (eheh). She's still growing into her lowly-arched feet. Facial (mostly) - She has a long face that's developing slight angles as she ages. She has brown, hooded eyes and often slight bags due to a lack of sleep. She has a wide bridge with a slim yet once broken nose, leaving a crook along the way. She has thin lips that rest down-turned: not a smile, but not a frown either. She has a heart-shaped crown leading to short, messy, dark brown hair and bushy eyebrows.
Personality traits: Nucca is rather quiet and shy among strangers. However, her demeanor is much happier among close friends. She does like to spend time alone. She can play tough when needed, but often hesitates to incite any actual conflict. She's not the bravest and easily succumbs to peer pressure (again, with close friends). She hopes to understand rather than sit on a biased opinion. She's not easily angered, but typically it would arise from annoyance. She can be a hard-worker, but is easily distracted. This is less of a personality trait, but she also has poor reading and writing skills.
Bio: Nucca is the firstborn and only child of a small line of farmers. Her mother passed without leaving a male heir, and therefore, Nucca had to pick up some of the ropes. Her father taught her how to till the land, properly harvest grain, and how to care for the needed animals. However, this led to the speculation among other children that she wanted to be a man. Honestly, the whole issue was easy to ignore until her peer's bullying escalated to a physical level. Suffice to say, that broken nose is nothing new. Over the years she was able to simply avoid them... with the help of her father chasing after them with a pitch fork. Her life changed drastically after her small home caught on fire. She was ordered to retrieve water to extinguish the flames only to return to a collapsed roof. She's still unsure what happened to her father; his body wasn't found, but he was never seen again. Afterwards, she was forced from what remained of her home, as a child couldn't own land or work acres alone (two barely could). Over the next years, she managed doing whatever she could, and picked up a small skill for the arcane arts along the way. If anything, she only hopes to make a new home at the academy.
Main focus of study: Illusion and Alteration
Other: She has a pet raven, Pavus. She fed the bird once or twice and it's just followed her around since. She also has a fondness for the night sky, art, and music.
(I haven't role-played or created a new character in a while) (So if anything needs to be changed or refined, just let me know) |

Name: Phoebe
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Physical traits: Phoebe is of average size, being of 5'7". To be short, she's a rather scary looking person, though she doesn't mind it. She is somewhat skinny and lanky, with long arms and legs, with wide shoulders. She has narrow, bony hips to match her bony limbs. Her large eyes are a dull yellow, akin to an owls. Her black and silky hair short, and curves away from her neck. Her skin is a pale color, with yellow and green undertones. Her cheeks are soft, however her nose is sharp to a point. Her the corners of her mouth reaching thin, yet her gentle lips are plump. In addition to the school uniform, if there would be one, she wears a dark and thick scarf, hung loosely around her neck.
Personality traits: She is sociable with other people, enjoys public speaking, and being in the spotlight. Though, it's less for concern and interest in other people, and more for herself. In fact, she feels uncomfortable when she feels invisible and alone. She's confident in her abilities, and is willing to take any challenge. She doesn't exactly give a damn how she looks like, and is willing to do almost anything for cash. She is honest, though can be a bit blunt as well. She isn't a hard worker, and is easily distracted, especially by people whom she's interested in. Though, she is also extremely straight forward as well, and tends not to be very creative.
Bio: Phoebe has a typical life as the youngest sister of a family of middle-class. Though she were a child, she was barely given any attention, merely a dot in another line of the family tree, compared to her more impressive sisters and brothers, who were doctors or lawyers or artists, or whatever; Anya didn't care much. One day, she has discovered that she had a gift, which has gotten some attention from her mother, but her powers of destruction wouldn't be economically feasible, so she didn't care for long. Another day, however, she's discovered she's found another gift, a letter to the Academy of Fein. Of course she were to take it, and perhaps take the path into something less worldly.
Main focus of study: Destruction
Other: i-i tried

(Both accepted. I also need to add one thing that I forgot. By Renaissance era, this is a bit different in this world. This world is an odd mix between modern day and more rural times. Trains are the main form of travel, as they span most of the world, while steam powered ships handle the seas. Watches and modern clothing are a thing. At the same time though, many things we have, they don't. Firearms are highly uncommon, as are most conventional weapons. Most violence in this period was mainly between small groups of people. Also, computers and what not aren't a thing. Yet. They may be added eventually. As of now, think of simple stuff. Sorry for long read. Now to enter myself.)
CS
Name: Raxus Durn the Eighteenth
Age: 56 (just wait)
Gender: Male
Physical traits: Durn is a large man in height, small in build. He has grey, almost silver eyes, and matching hair. He stands at about six feet, eleven inches. He has a gray/silver goatee, and somewhat pale skin.
Personality traits: Durn is considered a wise, intelligent, and cautious man. He is known to be friendly and kindhearted to friends and those in need, and brutal towards those that would hurt either. He can often be heard putting some kind of metaphor hinting to the Rift into his words, if one listens close enough.
Bio: Raxus Durn XVIII is the Headmaster of the Academy of Fein. One of four Rift Lurkers at the school, he's only ventured in once, returning with a seemingly endless knowledge on the theories of Illusion. Raxus began studying at the Academy at the age of nine, a year earlier than most. Throughout his years, he gained respect from peers and teachers alike, as he seemed to unravel some of the most stone-set theories of magic, and reweave them into something else. He's served as Headmaster since his father, Raxus Durn XVII stepped down two years ago. Not much is known about his past life, as he made a point not to associate himself with his father until becoming Headmaster. Be cautious when he is around.
Main focus of study: Mastery of all, specialized in Illusion and Alteration
Other: Raxus can commonly be seen communing with animals or apparitions, perhaps things created by the Rift itself. He will also gladly talk to any student brave enough to approach him.

CS
Name: Jason Ferr
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Physical traits: Jason stands at five feet, eleven and a half inches, and has a rather average, slightly muscled build. He has both brown eyes and rusty brown hair, along with the occasional stubble when he forgets to shave for a few days due to studies. Hard to notice really, but also hard to forget it seems when noticed. He seems to almost always be smiling.
Personality traits: Ferr is rather quiet guy around new people, and somewhat boisterous around friends. He's committed himself to trying to be as good a friend as possible to those that need one, and won't hesitate to be someone for others to talk to, regardless of their age or tier level at the Academy. He's known to be a good listener, and tries to often give minor tips and pick-me-up sort of lines. He's also known to be cool headed unless a friend is put into harms way, in which he abruptly changes into a hotheaded pain in the side.
Bio: Jason grew up near the only city in Fein, living in a small rural town. He'd heard about the Academy once, when one of his long time childhood friends left at the age of ten, having been invited. Five years later, a similar letter came for Jason himself. It had come two weeks after he had seemingly made a decent sized rock turn into a pebble. He didn't know how. It just did. Arriving at the school as soon as possible, he came to love it, and devoted himself to learning about his gifts. He's now been at the school for a year, and is at the Trainee Tier 2 level. He's quite friendly to newcomers at the school, and will help anyone with their own practice, as it tends to help him in some way as well.
Main focus of study: Illusion and Alteration
Other: Jason, halfway through his first year, befriended a husky-grey wolf mix while out in the far North of Fein with his class, the odd animal a bit larger than a normal husky but seemingly just as playful and kindhearted. The dog seeming to fit with him, stayed. The class all helped named him Frostbite, or more commonly, Frost. The dog can be seen with him basically everywhere he goes. |

Name: Rose Pygott
Age:17
Gender: Female
Physical traits: Rose has shoulder length, curly blonde hair with strawberry tips. She stands at 5 feet and ten inches. She has an average body figure. Not too big, not too small. Her eyes are a gentle sky blue color. Her skin would be a soft peach color with light tints of pink in her cheeks.
Personality traits: Rose is a very quiet girl. She normally stays to herself and keeps to the side. She's pretty shy when it comes to meeting new people. She's not much of a fighter, more of a helper. She's not much of a girly girl. More of a tomboy.
Bio: Rose was born and raised in Fein. She was not born into a wealthy family, more of a middle-class family. She is the youngest of three children. Her two older siblings, both male now in their mid 20s, already left the home of their parents to work in markets. When Rose was a child, she was very reserved. She didn't play with other children. She mostly would find a quiet place with a tree and sit up in the tree as she watched animals play out their own lives. When she turned 14, her mother grew ill. She worked effortlessly to aid her father in caring for her mother. With the effort to help her mother, she received an invitation to the Academy of Fein at age 17. With her parents blessing, she packed her bags and left her home for the academy.
Main focus of study: Healing
Other: Rose owns a small black kitten named Missy. She's a clever little kitten that is always with Rose. Missy is either on Rose's shoulder or on top her head. She sleeps and studies with Rose. They are best friends. |

(Accepted Dem. Schism, for the first question, you'd need a very good and detailed back story on what you've done at the Acadmeny thus far. As for age, age only determines what dormitory you're in. Magic level advances through how well you're character learns. There are old men at the Academy still at the Apprentice stage. Now. For the start of the RP)
The train from Newburg, the closest station to the Academy of Fein, was carrying a small group of new students towards the campus. When it stopped, and the doors opened, the group was met by a tall, thin, somewhat aged man. With a smile, he introduced himself as the Headmaster, having you follow him for the walk to the campus. Baggage would be dealt with.
As your characters arrive, you have three options to start your own storybat the school. Follow the Headmaster to start classes right away, go to your new dormitory, or go talk with some nearby students to get acquainted early. You can even see one boy with a large dog. The choice is yours. How will your stories start... |

Phoebe leaned straight back within the seat, with her arms crossed sightly against her chest. She glared out the window with a rather upset expression, her eyebrows furrowed together as she pondered about the time of the event of when they would finally arrive at school. It was bad enough this trip was taking what it felt like hours, might as well be weeks, but the silence was just plain annoying to her. With a stiff neck, she turned over towards the other person who appeared to be sitting across from her. She leaned forward, and coughed briefly in her hand to clear her throat, before speaking. "H... Hey! Hey, what's your name?"

| Once she got to her dorm room, she pushed the door open and peeked in to see that she was alone for now... She walked over to the bed and sat down. Missy jumping onto her lap as Rose leaned back against the bed frame, petting the small kitten. She looked at Missy and held her up. "Well.. Here we are.. What do you think Missy?"
