nes for sure
I have a ds lite and its only use to me is to play gameboy games on it (though I have a gba, so it's not that great).
The ds lite has some decent games on it for sure, but really I don't think it can compare with the NES- even though you can emulate most of the games, it's nice to own a retro console. |

Just play on an emulator (IT FREE) , you can have them both. Just type: [ENTER YOUR GAME CONSOLE HERE] Emulator / rom on google.
..but between NES and DS. Even if it will sound weird. I would choose DS (lite) , cause first it cost way cheaper and hundred of people sell them around ebay and big sale website. (Don't pick DSI cause you cant put a aircard into a DSi, it won't work, and it the same thing as a DS but it integer internet , but every phone has internet ,so it outdated.) and NES on ebay cost lot of money money.
Or you can install a NES emulator on your cellphone , it doesn't lag that much , but DS emulator on cellphone may lag , but not on tablet and there are a few good emulator out there for cellphone/tablet that are fun to use. |

emulate the nes and get an original ds
nes emulators work fantastic, even on potato hardware, just buy a nes controller from a third party with usb
original ds has that gba slot and you can carry it
ds emulators suck if a games reliant on touch control |

If you got the money, NES. If not, DSL. The NES might cost a bit simply because it's more of a collectors item.

for actually playing games, get a DS Lite
there are very few good games for the NES, but the DS' library is great |

| I played my friend's NES and it felt a lot more fun than the DS for some reason. |

"I played my friend's NES and it felt a lot more fun than the DS for some reason."
probably because it was something different, but the "difference factor" soon wears out
the DS, on the other hand, actually has a good library, with fewer overrated games |

| The NES is a console with many classic and fantastic games, and is a major part of video game history. The DS Lite is pretty spiffy but I highly recommend the NES. |

Nes has one major problem : It's way too expensive to get good games for.

@kuasha
Not necessarily. As a video game collector I love to find great games for cheap prices, which is possible through garage sales, thrift stores, ebay, craigslist, etc. |

| Not at all. People like to speculate that since gaming collecting as a hobby has grown a lot in the past 10-20 years, there are a lot less good deals out there. There's still great deals out there, one of the fun parts of being a collector is searching for them. I recently got into SNES and found a copy of Donkey Kong Country for $16, which is actually a pretty good deal for one of the best games on the console. |
