You see, there is this one game I really like, it's called ROBLOX mall: http://www.roblox.com/games/51782539/Roblox-Mall-Guis-Fixed-V-6-0
However, often, while playing the game on windows, I get these "NVIDIA display driver has stopped working, and has recovered" errors!
Immediately after I get the error, my computer screen glitches up, the computer freezes, and I have to hold down my computer outer power button to reboot it.
How do I fix this crap? In other games, it doesn't happen, but it usually happens in classic games that haven't been updated in a while!

This sounds like a similar issue I had on my old PC. This could be from dust build up, so I recommend blowing into the holes on the side and back of the pc, or better yet, buying a bottle of compressed air and spraying it inside.

Are you sure that's the problem?

It might be. In my research I did when this was happening on my old PC, a number of things could have been causing a shutdown
1. Overheating (Due to dust back up)
2. Virus

1. My computer is currently not overheating and it doesn't really overheat often.
2. I have malwarebytes, and I know I have no viruses.

So, what I've decided to do is re-install the correct drivers, and update them to fix the issue. I hope this works, I will tell you how it goes soon.

This can also be caused by having a really bad CPU/Low RAM. Or your drivers are outdated. |

1. My CPU is actually decent.
2. I have 8 gigs of ram.
3. I updated my drivers COMPLETELY, and this crap still happens. I've tried everything to stop this error, but I still get it when playing these roblox games.

I'm not really a rendering engineer so don't take any of this message as an official statement.
If your drivers are up to date, it could be a bug in the driver. What kind of laptop is it? I had this issue on my old Lenovo IdeaPad all the time, but it was all games. |

I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5458, and that's where I keep getting these errors. I made sure I un-installed drivers, re-installed drivers, updated drivers, checked for Dell Updates, and more. I don't know if this still actually is caused by a bug in the driver anyways, but yea. I also own a MacBook Air, and that thing can run ROBLOX games perfectly fine. I don't know what the problem with my Dell is.
ALSO! The driver/video card that is mostly responsible for these errors is the NVIDIA GeForce 920M.

Yea, the GeForce 920M IS the card/driver on my Dell.

if you're choking your laptop on i.e. a bed surface or your lap,you should get *at least* a small cooling fan.
running my GTX 970 in a sub-par sized mATX case causes a lot of throttling problems, hence the display driver issues like yours i get from time to time.

hmm maybe your GPU is just broken ?? -you said your laptop doesnt overheat very often ->so it was atleast 1 time overheated ;So the bad thing is :that overheating is very dangerous for a laptop ->especially if you play with it on your couch ;
So the couch stored the heat and only fastened the overheating ...so your graphics card may got damaged since the last heat problems and is dying very slowly since then.
Well but thats just a possibility there could be many other hard or software problems ...but if repairing the software doesnt help ya need to get new hardware -->So you may need to buy a new laptop ---->> BUT in this case i recommend ya to save money for a desktop pc !.....
Thanks for reading and good luck.

| I have the same problem. I think driver updates are necessary. games with higher than normal graphics settings might do this. I always get a error saying graphics driver for windows 8 stopped responding. but i am in fact running windows 10, so a driver should fix the problem. since you are running the NVIDIA I recommend checking there website to check you have the latest version. or it could be GPU issues if you play on a external monitor. If you run ROBLOX on a desktop computer, you can open it up, purchase a new graphics card, and install it. But that's about all the device I have to offer. hope I helped! |

| You also mentioned you had Malwarebytes. you do realize Malwarebytes was designed to remove MALWARE. It was never intended for use as a antivirus program, in such cases, I recommend AVG. |
