Some other forums I go on have systems where you can up-rep or down-rep somebody, where they get "reputation" in exchange for posts. This would be like a way to pay people for the value they contribute to forums, as more informative, or funnier, posts will yield higher reps. Similarly, you can down-rep when somebody posts something bad that is disliked. This could be done on an individual post basis, or just on an overall basis (i.e. getting rep for individual posts where there's a +number by the post, or getting rep just in general where it's shown by your character).

Yeah, I've seen this in other forums like the Kerbal Space Program forums and such. (Before they switched)
It was a good system, however, I don't think we can simply implement it.
You see, the reputation system is part of vBulletin, the forum type that you're referring to that has the reputation system.
Unfortunately, in order to put in the reputation system, we'd have to switch all the way over to vBulletin. |
