In 1980, Ronald Reagan defeated President Jimmy Carter in the race for the White House. Reagan, who famously quipped “government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem”, won in a landslide victory. Ironically, from 1980-1986, the national debt did in just six short years under President Ronald Reagan what it had taken nearly 200 years to do: it doubled to $2 trillion.
When Reagan’s eight years of massive deficit spending were finally over, the national debt had soared a whopping 184%.
Reagan would later describe the massive debt increase as the “greatest disappointment” of his presidency.

| I'm not a Reagan fan but America needed someone to play the cowboy after the problems with the hostage crisis and Jimmy Carters 'failed' presidency. |

As a Democrat, I believe that aside from the Camp David Accords, Carter was a failure of a president. I could enumerate a whole list of problems with his presidency, including incredibly high inflation, and fairly terrible foreign affairs in regards to the Iran hostage crisis.
To be honest, as a President, he was ineffective and unable to make change/keep America running well.
On the other hand, though, his post-Presidency route has been one of the most successful ever, and he's done a lot in terms of humanitarian good across the world. As a person, he's certainly to be admired and applauded for his magnanimity. That said, he was still not a good president.

The people that voted for Obama were all black and white people were called racist if they didn't vote for him.
And there's NO WAY IN HELL Obama is better than Ronald Reagan. Not even CLOSE |

Exactly, just like when some people started calling whites pigs, they don't realize that they are being racist But everything has an excuse of course A guy pulls a gun on a cop, good I'm glad the criminal was shot But in others minds it's racist to defend yourself |
